Not really. There are some Magic decks that come with Arena codes , but thats all.

:gilga:
Only if your physical cards included some promo codes.

How would that work? Like rfid in the card you use like amiibo from Nintendo? Where its a one time code that links to the account. Or you mail them physical cards and they add them to your account? Or the pack has a code when you open it?

Or 1 for 1 digital copy of commander sets when you purchase. Well we don't get commander sets to arena, that's 1, we don't get many universes beyond either unless they are full sets, so that's 2 out.

Their money makers like MH3 will sell anyway without giving free internet copies because it's driven by a secondary market so 3 that's out.

When you open a booster or a core set? Idk, maybe they will run promo

I think the only way is going to game stores for fnm or buying hot pockets. But those are some old hot pockets if you can find them, like been in that store freezer for 1 year and 1/2 or some shiz

They could literally just replace the ad cards in packs with a MTG arena code card meaning you would either get a token with a code on the back, just an arena code, or an art card with an arena code on the back instead of what we get now. Where you always get 1 arena pack for every 1 physical play booster bought.

Packs would go up in price which is already a problem in places.

What a solid chunk of people would do when buying cards IRL (directly or prizes through draft events) would be to keep the physical cards and sell the codes on a 3rd party website to recoup some costs. Wizards wouldn't be keen as it would eat into profits so it's not likely without a slight increase in pack price for what the resale value of the code would be.

I feel like you are overestimating how many people sink money into straight packs. They spend their money on drafts and mastery pass. Then they would buy packs after going infinite on gems from winning drafts. I cant imagine whales would go through the inconvenience and risk of buying codes from a shady site to put them in one by one. Seems implausible.

I think it would be much more likely that what would happen is what happens with FNM codes, what which get posted to reddit for whoevers first

pokemon tcgo had sites that sold codes at .99 cents a piece so it would be viable but WoTC would never let their economy become dictated by a outside or 3rd party source.

Except WOTC does let their economy become dictated by 3rd party sources.

Get a feeling the devs never really moved onto the remaining problems, willing to bet my left ass cheek that they labelled this a different problem than the original maintenance like they claimed than went home for the evening without even bothering to try to fix the remaining problems.

Pokemon does include codes for their equivalent in every single pack. I would actually play Online if I could use any of the same cards I had. Not that the online pack would pull the same cards but at least I wouldn't have to rebuy a pack online and then still hope I got the cards I wanted

For your first comment, TCG Player has a card scanner on their app. Its really not that hard anymore, just scan the image
