Been playing MTG for 9 years (Commander, obv, i go outside) and garbanzo arena for roughly 3

Here's the scoop:
If I'm winning in a casual 1v1 60card and you do nothing but cast wipes on your turn you deserve traintrack neck. It's an autoconcede dog, you can HAVE your win you want so so bad. IM trying to play MTG. That was our goal after all afaik, but you wipe mfs seem on a diff wave
Who hurt you so badly that you can't just counterspell me and hit my life total like an adjusted person?

Boardwipes are without question the worst mechanic ever designed for the health of MTG and the fact that they keep printing them shows they have zero idea of how to balance a game.

Oh, aggro is too fast? Stompy hurts too bad?? Wow! It's almost like thats the point!
If you see white/black/blue and dont go 'sick healers or graveyard recursion or..' and instead think 'im gonna stop them from playing' you deserve the worst only. You only ruin people's time in the card game and destroy a diverse set of decks in the formats.

It's that simple.

some of us just want to play magic, but creature and board position decks are always trying to make it so nobody can do anything without 350 creatures on the board. it's so toxic the way they shut down the ability to play sorceries and instants and til turn 10 by swamping u with unbalanced trash like ghalta

as an enjoyer of diverse decks, i get sick every time someone plays a bunch of creatures and swings for life totals, it's such a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and boring way to play magic when u don't let anyone do anything creative but just try and get 100000/100000 creatures on the field and deplete life totals

"please play only the parts of the game in which my deck is better than yours" is toxic anti-fun nonsense and u should lose every game. i'm adding extra boardwipes just for you.

Yes you losing it.
Boardwipes are as old as Magic. So maybe play more to learn how to play against it. A free tip- just because you can play all your creatures on the table, it doesnt mean you should.

I agree 100 % with OP.

People can't make a deck anymore. They just pack nothing but "DESTROY ALL CREATURES" black and white with the most overpowered black and white creatures in it and think they're good at the game.

The thing about card games like MTG is that players are free to build the deck however they want, but no deck is unbeatable and you have to play around popular decks and cards if you want to play them. Or in other words: if you loose too much against board wipes, then play cards that are useful even if board wipe is played the next turn. It's simple as that. Alternatively, you can stick to your previous strategy and keep losing against particular decks - nothing wrong in that, as long your deck is effective against other decks and your win rate stays above 50%.

I don't think you really read what I said much but that's cool it was more of a rant anyways.

When did I say, if ever, what 'my strategy' is? I only gave a few examples of the most easily boardwiped deck styles and what the wipers complain about them.
Mono-green dorks still has a 86%+ winrate against wipe deck. It's not like I don't understand you're capable of putting other cards in your deck to help against the wipes either. I've played the game before. I'm capable of holding cards because I know the opponent has 4 white up. That was never, and will never be, the issue.

It's a fundamental issue of the game of Magic that they don't need to continue supporting and justifying those mistakes by saying 'build better cards' or 'play around it git gud lol' is why there are power creep issues and a general distaste for new cards among a growing portion of the community now.

So what is the issue, because I dont understand now. If not the boardwipes (because you hold cards and win anyway) then what? What was the point of your two walls of text?

You know that a deck is built before match? And players dont know what their opponents would play? And that boardwipes are used in control decks to kill threats before deck has a lot of mana and a lot of cards in hand (which gives you control over match)?
Boardwipes are not there to hurt your fragile ego (thats just a bonus if you ragequit) and to stop you from playing, but to ensure winning condition for ME, to protect my stuff. I thought someone who played for 9 years would understand these basic facts.

Board wipes are necessary for the health of the game. Otherwise you'd just spam all your cards on the table and turn them sideways every turn, because why not?
