and it's diminishing the significance of making a good play.

it doesn't feel important to revive valgavoth when I can do it on turn 3 and then get wiped and revive it 4 more times by turn 6 and still lose to some ridiculous combo that spits out a dozen 6/6 tokens every turn >.>

the numbers don't mean anything if you diminish them... and add like a billion board wipes.
kinda like how "can not be destoryed" is kinda pointless when you can have someone sacrifice it.. like why even have that?
or why have a card that says "hexproof from instants" that can be countered with an instant spell?

But you keep bring it up as if it's something really noteworthy or negates the charge that you're really new at Magic, which isn't really the case.

I've been playing for like a year and a half. I assume by default that almost anyone is better than me. It is what it is; I have fun playing and don't feel compelled to prove that I've "beat" the game.

But that does at least give me enough humility to not declare that the powercreep across like two sets is ruining the game, or that rule jargon I personally dislike is therefore nonsensical, or to make judgments about when the game was 'balanced' according to my definition decades before I started playing.

I don't claim to be "the best magic player in the world"... but the rankings placed me in 80+% so idk... I've probably got some idea...

and then every time I try to tell people how your impressions are false, they want to slam me for "bragging"...

so I guess actually being decent at the game means nothing, and only those who have played the game for a long time are allowed to have opinions about it.

It's possible that you have some decent takes on standard - none spring to mind from the posts I've seen from you but I may have forgotten some. But commenting on power creep when you've been playing for a couple of months? Really? What are you comparing - are you saying foundations and duskmourne are power crept over bloomburrow or going back to the earlier sets still standard legal, dominaria united? If you're a decent player, you can have some good takes about things even if you only see a small period of time. Power creep isn't one of those things because fundamentally it's comparing things from different times.
