It's been a couple of years since I played. What do I do?

I'm not playing against real players. I have social issues and can't handle the nerves. So I just play against AI.

I have around 50,000 gold. I don't plan to buy gems or pay real money for anything. What should I do with my gold?

I searched for codes and was only able to redeem a few of them. The rest said they didn't work. Is there a code list that is all redeemable I should check?

There are newer decks that new players could collect, like Grave Matter and Balancing Act. Can these be collected from past players as well?

Anything else a newbie/returning player should know?

There are MTG games that actually have well developed PvE content. There's a bunch of games with the title "Duels of the Planeswalkers" and then a year. I remember having a lot of fun with the pve in those.

You could just go into MTGA gameplay settings and tick 'Disable Emotes'. That will mute everyone.

Play mode AKA UNRANKED mode has literally nothing on the line. You could just mess around in there and not worry about others. In RANKED mode, you can't even drop down if you are in Bronze rank. The most important thing is to not care about losing. EVERYONE loses. It is not a big deal.

If you play these modes, you will at least get gold and XP progress which will lead to more packs and more cards. For the main daily missions (e.g. Cast X number of Y spells), you don't even need to win to complete them. You do not get any XP or gold from playing the Sparky AI.

Also, getting packs from the latest Standard set contributes to free golden packs.

Thanks for the info. But playing against other players is just not something I'm capable of doing. It's too much...too uncomfortable. Just KNOWING there is another person on the other end is too much for me.

It's one of those watch everyone get banned for no reason threads. I guess, that's par for the course when you are to fragile to play the game as it was intended.

Also to the OP,: Anxiety is the worst sort of affliction for gaming. :( I hope you find some relief for that. If playing Sparky is all you can manage that's fine. Though the game is a great deal of fun vs other players once you get past the nerves and fear. And yes it can be overwhelming when you don't know the cards very well. One thing you can do when you see a new card is right click on it to open a larger subwindow showing the card. That will stick around through button clicks (though not through card interactions strangely) and you can be timely without failing to read the cards.

Also if you have a 2nd screen you can open scryfall or gatherer.wizards.com and search up card names of cards you encounter. That way your reading can be more thorough later on.
