Stupid people with black cards
Like seriously, can I play vs something different than stupid black, or mixed with black discard decks? Just played 4 games, all 4 vs this discard crap, its not even funny anymore.
Get a life, and learn how to play the game isntead of trying to piss of your opponent.
Won 3 out of those 4 so go to hell with your stupid discard decks morons.

seems like a lot of the salt in this thread is a result of skill issues.

from those 100.000 cards you can rule out 99.900. imagine how broken it is for a card collector game, where owning cards should mean something.

and they keep dumping more and more cards, without any thought about fun or balance. magic is dead, many of my friends stopped playing it, paper and online. your only option in mtga is paid draft but what's the point when the collected stuff is useless.

zero effort game. you can tell by shop items. blurred avatar images and sleeves, any AI generator can do better.
so, basically everything is garbage except jank? Good logic

Lol imagine thinking actually letting your opponent play any card whatsoever is "jank"

Yea, you need so much skilllll. Like so much skill, this is unbelivable levels of skill, possesed only by the chosen ones. First turn duress or other crap, second turn bat, third turn another bat, and/or another creature/artifact/enchantemnt that make you discard. Pretty much gg at that point and waiting if you draw something or not. SKILLLLLLLL. And if you had to muligan to 6 cards, 2 or 3 cards are lands anyway. SKILLLLLLLLLLL. Brainless zombies that want to play solitaire but somehow ended on arena. Not to mention stupid cards that let them look trough your whole deck, tons of removal and other overpwered cards they can play while still screw you up with their overpriced one mana discard effects. Braindead zombies and nothing else.

Well stupidity is definitely not confined to people playing black cards it seems - earlier today I played against a blue player (dunno if it was mono-blue, didn't last long enough to find out). Clearly they had no idea, but I guess that comes from a playstyle that is entirely reactive. Game went:

Oppo T1: Island, pass
Me: Plains, Novice Inspector
Oppo T2: Island, pass
Me: Cavern of Souls, specifying Human, then Warden of the Inner Sky
Oppo spent the next minute trying to play an Essence Capture, eventually forcing it through despite the "Are you sure" prompts, the Warden having a purple border and the Cavern being tapped. Immediately conceded when it did nothing and is probably off somewhere whining about bugs.

So yeah, Blue control players are probably some of the dumbest in Magic.

Play a graveyard deck. I just recently made one with the cards "Recommission" and "Call a Surprise Witness" to recur cards like Tinybones and Adeline. Absolutely obliterates discard effects and field wipes. If you want to be extra spicy, throw in some Serra Paragons.

There is far more than "Counter the spell." My deck is WB, but I can guarantee you get a similar result from Green rather than white. The answers are out there, you just need to play more.

To make myself clear, Discard effects ARE strong. Just like with everything else in the game though, there are ways to play around it.

Many of them exile, and they can make you discard graveyard retrieval like Recomission, i know this because i generally have 4 of them in any white deck as well because it's a good card.

Basically, anything that's a real threat can easily be removed, with basically no counter, then they play their Obliterator or that stupid bat god card and win.

I'm not saying you can't still win of course, i'm just saying the actual discard and "look at your hand and exile a card" has virtually no counter for 4/5 colors, which is what's annoying about black, there is no counters to much of their cards, like a 2 mana cost forced sacrifice, it's so cheap along with Go for the Throat and similar cards that it's near impossible to really counter it or protect anything.
My dude, I will not give you the answer to every one of your "but what ifs." You can't have good matchups against everything. Every deck, every card has a weakness. It is your responsibility as a player to seek out ways to play around your opponent's strategy while executing your own.

If you already know what their lines of play will be, you can make plans to deal with those threats in advance. As far in advance as say, deck building.

Edit:
You know what, just this one time:

Standard Orzhov Trash

4 Recommission (BRO) 22
4 Plains (MID) 268
4 Call a Surprise Witness (MKM) 6
1 Concealed Courtyard (OTJ) 268
2 Adeline, Resplendent Cathar (MID) 1
2 Brutal Cathar (MID) 7
4 Resolute Reinforcements (DMU) 29
3 Annihilating Glare (ONE) 80
4 Forlorn Flats (OTJ) 258
3 Evolved Sleeper (DMU) 93
4 Swamp (MID) 272
4 Caves of Koilos (DMU) 244
2 Tinybones, the Pickpocket (OTJ) 109
4 Deep-Cavern Bat (LCI) 102
4 Go for the Throat (BRO) 102
2 Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia (MID) 108
2 Braids, Arisen Nightmare (DMU) 84
1 Corrupted Conviction (OTJ) 84
2 Corrupted Conviction (MOM) 98
4 Shattered Sanctum (VOW) 264

Beats discard and board wipe decks easy. Loses hard to control though.

Piece of advice for piloting this garbage deck:
If your opponent is trying to exile stuff, use your kill spells on your own creatures so you can bring them back and devalue their cast.

Make sure to kill their sheoldred and hit with flying tinybones to cast their sheoldred from their graveyards. You will out value every 1 for 1 kill spell and most board wipes in the format.

Maybe you did't or something. Beside the fact that I have enough of this stupid matchmaking that gives me 99% games vs black decks. Its quite rage inducing, not fun at all. Discard effects, reveal hand and deck effects are rampart along with the removal. Obviously some psycho at that corporation is printing more of those cards with every set to bring down his mental issues on all players, cause he can't just go to therapy.

So why are you still playing? You seem to have mental issues yourself if the game makes you so mad. It's kinda amusing to watch you post everytime you lose though- LOL

Who said I lose? LOL. I have 62% winrate vs all this trash decks, most of the time I don't care when I need to discard, cause every time I discard a creature I get more power on the other stuff. LOL. Its just not fun to play vs the same trash all the time. The only thing that is bad for me is when they touch my graveyard, that is not good.
Over 3k cards and all they play is stupid black cards, 0 creativity or fun stuff to play against. You see the same cards over and over again.
