Seriously, playing swamp is way too OP
IMO swamp is too OP, having spells that costs barely anything to insta-kill any creature? Not to mention death touch?! I also can't seem to NOT play against them. Out of 10 matches 8 are against swamp... When i started Magic i never thought the game would be THIS free to play, it feels very unbalanced. Some cards should have WAY higher costs than it actually is. Oh yeah pay 2 mana to instakill anyone oh and also combo that with a creature that costs barely anything to cast with "gain 2 life and opponent lost 2 when opponent draws a card"?! I find the game more and more boring since 9/10 opponents have either swamp decks or an OP deck build they saw on Youtube, i see the same player made decks all the time. I play as White only since it seems more fun, you have to think more and it doesn't give a very big advantage over anyone. I don't want to queue against swamp anymore, can't i just toggle it so i don't have to play against them? What's your opinion? :(

make sure you understand the basic keywords like haste ect then move on to stat blocks vs cost. High cost cards are great but you wont ever get to play them if someone is playing a mono red rush down deck.

finding balance in your deck is probably the best idea a nice balance of control and creatures with some value spiced in with a nominal land count would be best in a perfect world, it will also lead to not having the correct card you need in a critical moment where 1 turn can make the entire game flip on its head.

this is a very simple format of % deck builds that does not take into account mana cost but more of a simple deck volume % the main point is to ask yourself what is the % of time I will draw this card at its most basic idea.
-----------------------------------------
40% land
10% draw
10% creature
10% enchantments/artifacts/ramp/ect
10% control/counters ect
5% board wipes
5% search
10% win con/value cards/fun card ect

The issue with this deck is it tries to do to much. its all about the luck of the draw. and if asked to answer the same threat over and over it will run out of steam, its a good example of a jack of all trades deck, it will answer allot of things... if it can get the cards in hand. and is not asked the same question over and over.
------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------
40% land
30% control/counter or 40% and the other 20% or just go 60% and the other 0%
30% creature/tokens or 40% and the other 20% or just go 60% and the other 0%

Ok. Simple and sweet... Creatures with control effects can offer some of the best of both worlds at higher mana costs. while control cards offer the safety of low mana cost but no value for the most part. (not all the time but for the most part)...

60% control/counters seems silly... how would they win? Draconic Debut?? seems gross and likely to run out of cards. before the opponent does.

60% creatures is less silly but depends on the mana avarage of what you are running, like elf deck and most elf decks seem to run some kind of % of control/enchant ect or spells like Collected Company ect...

balancing one way or another will grant you versatility in answers to the big control vs creature while leaving you more and more open to drawing a card from another pool of cards the more you spread yourself thin on the other. and the more you rely on cheap spells to answer that the opponent has done, you find yourself out of cards in hand and them with a full hand of cards because they have 20% of their deck dedicated to draw or something.
-----------------------------------------------
I think you get the idea.

there is no perfect deck no perfect answer to everything. this is a strategy rock paper scissors game.

play slow stall your opponent out they brought a rush down deck with low power low mana stuff that blows up in the early game. make them hit 0/4 walls. get some reach for those white fliers. get some control on your side to just remove anything you want. play all your creatures in your hand and watch them all get destroyed with a board wipe. bring nothing but board wipes and get destroyed by a red player with nothing but shock spells lol.

anyway I doubt anyone will actually read this wall of text. oh well. TLDR
------------------------------------
% based deck building. don't do it just for land... ask yourself what % of the time would you like to draw this type of card and you will be much more happy with your games.
I did read it! But i have a little hard time understanding since i'm so new. So generally speaking about 30 % lands 30 % creatures and 30 % spells? Or 40% land and the rest 30/30 % spells and creatures? Thank you for taking your time trying to help! :)

Majority of players on Arena are that guy at the cardshop that nobody will play with, no matter the color. You can easily filter though 5-10 of those removal decks conceding in the same time it takes to play against one.

It's for the greater good as those removal decks, be it mono or five color, can't be enjoyable to use so they probably just get their daily reward and go be cringe in some other random PvP game. Cleans up the queue.

I read somewhere you can play with magic premade decks against magic premade decks? Called standard? Can't find it ingame though. If it exists i guess it could be more fun

I believe it's the starter decks. Don't change cards in them and you play against other stock decks. Not sure if there's a seperate area for it or not.

Mind you though, some of those starter decks are also Black decks. So you're not necessarily free from removal there.
