Any point to the meme decks?
You know the ones you often encounter in Historic? the no brained no skill required infinite loop decks or the insta wins or whatever else it used for meme related things? Like i get they are funny and getting people angry is funny to these...people but wouldn't it get boring after awhile? wouldn't people want to build their own interesting decks and not copy paste whatever is broken online? Like the shrine deck for instance or the infinite loop lifepoint drain deck etc hell i was even milled in my entirety in a few turns once

Even the simplest of infinite loops requires some skill and brain power to pull off. Especially when compared to aggro as a strategy, whose entire gameplan is to click every spell you can cast until you're out of mana and full swing every turn until one player has lost the game.

For the record, the decks you're describing as "copy paste" are not broken. They're at best mid tier, and mostly low tier.

I'm assuming your the one that gave the clown reward when it wasnt needed? well thanks for the free points and uhh yes they are broken anything that can sweep a player in a couple turns is broken not thought out unoriginal and unfun to use or play against. They are copy paste because they are listed online as to how to build and the chances of encountering them are high so everyone is doing it the same exact methods.

Combo decks actually require some of the most forward and strategical thinking, since you can only have 4 of any card, you have to devise ways both of getting, and protecting, what you need to pull off the combo, and it *usually* requires at least 3 mana cost cards.

Aggro red, and black kill/sacrifice and blue control are definitely the most brain dead deck types, but they are effective.. because it makes sure the other player can't play anything to begin with, so it's the equivalent of into a boxing match with someone that is tied gagged and blindfolded.

Whats up with control freaks wanting to control the uncontrollable?

So sorry that you can't make other people's decisions for them.

I'm flattered that you think the things I'm saying are deep or profound, but I'm just speaking normally.

For the record, this is my name because I've always had issues communicating with others. It's a polite request to be patient and considerate, because I will make a mistake and you will interpret me in a way I didn't expect or intend. It's not "clever", it's sincere.

You are right. I don't mean to be aggressive sometimes i have issues in my head as well and this day was a bad one i apologize. i really just made this thread to get some insight or opinions on these types of decks.

Imagine getting mad because of the way you lost in a children's card game. Sad

No worries. Everyone has those days. And some decks can be really frustrating to play against, especially when their game plan is so linear. I hate when the entire game plan is removal, ramp, and tutoring out the infinite combo. One in particular I dislike is the Emergent Ultimatum combo deck that reliably casts their entire deck no matter what if the first Emergent Ultimatum resolves, because it either gets Omniscience or a way to free cast Omniscience anyway, in a deck that just spams cards that get other cards.

I agree ive just been surrendering the moment one of these decks comes into play lol ive been building my own decks for historic
How did I come across as mad? You typed that decks make people angry when they lose to them, I typed imagine getting angry losing in a card game. Which you took personally, but luckily you weren't big mad about it so that's a relief. Anyways continue to rage quit to any deck you judged to be a "meme", I'm sure that will make you a better player and deck builder.

You know some people are going to take the opportunity to snipe. Which imho is why you reacted poorly to DontMisunderstand, who might seem condescending sometimes but I think means well. The other guy not so much. Trollish intent (implication that you are childish for having feelings, not so subtle putdowns and a general disrespect for the conversation at hand) is indicated in the words used.

Just take a breather. Acknowledge your bad day. Take another breath. Accept that the snipers and trolls do not and are not even trying to understand where you are coming from. Edgelords live on the edge for a reason. Let it go.
