People who run board wipes in creature decks are a danger to themselves and others.
Get em off the street, please.

or removal spammers. they dont want a game, they want to spam removals. something wront with all of them

or those mentally ill who refuse to leave a game on defeat

I hate these decks.

But, it is satisfying when the enemy plays board wipe after board wipe and you manage to pull out even more stuff out.

What's worse, is there are board wipes that also put out a ton of little toxic 1 mite tokens, which could potentially be an instant win if you do it twice, creating 6 tokens each time.

There was one guy with a strat like that, that said "gg" in the opening hand before anything was played.... he board wiped and created tokens, but i had card draw, so i just kept relentlessly putitng out a few creatures with a good combo to force them to use the board wipe on a few creatures over and over again, until i managed to overwhelm them anyways.

The few games like that kind of make up for it, except it wastes so much time and is so annoying.

Board wipes with creatures is a classic strategy from back when Wrath of God was *the* board wipe. The idea is that even though it has a symmetrical effect in theory, in practice your deck plays creatures that are either resilient to wipes (indestructible, return from graveyard, manlands, etc) or have a leaves the battlefield trigger, or help some other trigger happen when they die.

Generally speaking this is much easier to do now than it was in say 1994. Back then wrath was essential to control decks to ensure late game dominance with one large creature after having cleared the way early on. Now you just build your deck with an eye towards incorporating board wipes/sweepers into the strategy and play early creatures you don't mind sweeping.

And then there are cards like Sunfall which rewards you for exiling your creatures by giving you a big token you can make afterward for a mere +2 mana. There are plenty of reasons to run sweepers in your creature decks. But of course as with anything it helps to not shoot yourself in the foot while you are going about your business.

There are enough asymmetrical board wipes at this point that I find it questionable whenever someone plays one of the symmetrical ones. Seeing an Esper deck drop planar cleansing makes me cringe knowing that River's Rebuke and Cyclonic Rift exist, as an example.
