Alchemy
Why do people hate alchemy so much. I personally find it to be the more entertaining game mode and it gives you more choices imo.

Alchemy game mode? Completely fine.
Alchemy rebalancing/digital only cards forcing its way to OTHER game mods such as historic/brawl? That´s where the hate comes from. And it is justified.

I play in Alchemy so I don’t have to se Wandering Emperor, among other busted cards.

Alchemy has way better cards so people who like to make their own decks have a lot of choice, people who get triggered easily can't handle the awesome stuff alchemy cards can do. People know in standard meta is pretty much a sure thing, meta in alchemy is easily defeatable.

At least part of that is that alchemy is played so much less than standard, even just on arena, let alone mtgo and paper and generally not as at high a level as their are fewer rewards. So there's much less effort going into solving the meta and less data available for anyone trying to. You still tend to run into the same few cards just as often, they're just different cards to standard (porcine portent and to a lesser extent Rusko and Tajic) and tend to be fairly pushed otherwise alchemy would end up too much like standard.

I think that's probably why i like it, i make my own custom decks, sometimes ill use the combo i've seen in another deck and just build around a combo.

It also allows Palantir, which is good, because it's a consistent card draw for any color deck, while Standard doesn't.

I play alchemy only because I'm new and don't want to invest in older sets (the newer sets are more than enough imo). However...

The LOTR set is full of a ton of bs cards that infuriate the living hell out of me. No other set is as cursed as that one. The Ring, that spirit making sword thing, Aragorn, Arwen, the card draw orb thing, Witch-King, Boromir, Delighted Halfling, the horn, Nazgul, Rosie, the stone. F those cards.

I cannot wait for it to come out of circulation in Alchemy - all the standard players don't have to deal with that bs and they are lucky.

This right here, I see a lot more custom built decks in the game mode then I do premades imports like standard. I get a lot less pissed off in alchemy than I do in the others lol.

Yea I have gotten some good ideas from other peoples decks (mostly opponents) it's okay to copy a little bit and some of it is just unavoidable when using combos because certain cards need other cards to get the full potential. I love Palantir too, its easily removable so its fair, it pairs well with tonnnns of cards and its cheap mana wise.

Yea I have copied a few things here and there and have some standard meta decks. In alchemy I have beat opponents with 100+ life while having two life like turn 20 because I had the stuff to stay afloat, as where in standard a turn 20 game is just your opponent messing with you or poor luck and draws for both of you.

Not to mention Palantir has LOADS of player interaction, even without removal, because the opponent has to decide if and when to let the opponent draw a card and such, which makes it a great card in my book, compared to ones with no interaction. It's overall well-designed, i think one of the best card designs from a game standpoint.

Haha I just crafted this card it it plays so well in my discard/mill deck black and blue lol. Now they have to worry about that and one ring to rule them all
