Uhm... I play only Alchemy in MTGA because there's no proper EDH
you play it, because theres no alternative to commander/two-headed-giant etc. thats why the mode sucks, dunno what they fear for implementing the way better modes ...
Honestly, I'm really enjoying it! It gives me a lot of ideas how to play printed MtG and I can tryout combos that my smooth brain can't project in mind properly.
EDH is very social mode, best played in a face-to-face party of 3-4 players, so I do understand why they didn't import it.
MTGO offers EDH, but ain't sure if that game is still alive ^^;
Nice! That's great to hear actually! Hopefully you'll get fun experience now.
You are completely correct. This is the new "meta". I call them “Monkey” players. No skills and all they do is use these type of cards to win. For them it's a victory and that's all that matters. When I play with this type of player I just leave. You can give this deck to “monkeys” and they will be able to win and that says a lot about them. No skills, no morals. Some might say, “So you lost to a monkey!” But the answer would be: "Not really. If you have a knife and the other person has some automatic weapons and grenades you would say they have a huge advantage." These cards are stupid and are not used by moral players. It's life itself and it says a lot about the type of player you play against.
What a wonderful thought provoking response.
It's a game, not everyone should be forced to play the "automatic weapons and grenades" if they want hand-to-hand combat just because one person brings the automatic weapon and ruins it for everyone else. I do think ruining the fun all by yourself of everyone else is rather immoral, and who cares that the "black knight" ends up winning.
So do people that rig the deck by cheating.
You know, by this same logic, wouldn't there be nothing wrong with cheating then? After all, they win, and the other side can do it too, so why is cheating banned?
Alchemy is fine, it's annoying, but so is Standard, and imo Standard is much worse in terms of broken ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that's "legal" like in terms of individual cards. Alchemy just has some annoying mechanics let into it that standard doesn't, but i don't see why alchemy is worst because of "heist" which isn't insanely powerful just annoying, when Standard has "oh i put Rakdos into my GW, then i bring it back, then i bring Metamorphosis back, oh look, an infinite combo with infinite damage! i win with a card i literally don't even have the right man for, by playing a single card after milling on turn 4!"
Or "i play this mount with haste, i makes 4 copies of this creature, oh i win!"
or "I play a card "board wipe! Ok i play another card 'board wipe!' fine i play an enchantment. Good luck boar- 'Farewell!' "
Yeah all of that is currently standard legal, yet people want me to believe alchemy is the terrible format of the two.
