Tickets?
So, I have to spend 2,800 gems to be able to use the tickets I earn playing the game normally?

And you can't even buy 2800 gems. You basically have to spend 20$ to unlock it. I guess it's good it's a bunch of cosmetics, but I saw a few things there, mainly avatars I wouldn't mind having.

I get that it's supposed to be a season pass for MH3, but it just seems messed up to do it this way.

First thing I noticed. It's like mastery passes, except instead of getting the first X rewards and having to spend gems on everything past that, you have to spend your gems at the door.

tickets replace the xp for those who bought the season pass, my guess

You get both xp and tickets. But you have to pay upfront 2'800 gems to start using tickets.

Pretty much. Detailed official information for it has been out for weeks. If you're not interested in the cosmetics it's still an okay deal but not a great one.
1 Draft token, 8 MH3 packs and 10 individual mythics still pays off the 2800 gems with a bit left over if you have the gems on hand. Cosmetics wise, it's 5 avatars, 7 sleeves and 50 card styles.

If you don't play historic or timeless (maybe brawl too) and don't care about cosmetics, it's probably not worth it though. I'll probably get it for the token and packs with the cosmetics being a nice bonus. I wouldn't pay for them on a digital format but the extended art for some of the cards did look very nice.

the new pass is 2800 gems. You use tickets to get a draft token (1500 gem value) and 8 packs (1600 gem value) You basically make your value back. Then obviously u can get all the profiles, sleeves, card styles and mythic cards. If its not worth it for u fine. However people thinking you give 2800 for nothing are wrong. Like everything in MTGA when you spend currency you get back the value in either packs, tokens, cards or gems.
Its structured in a very FOMO way. Its psychologically manipulative IMO. Lose something you don't really want, but is sitting in front of you (tickets), is going to make quite a few people buy just from it making them uncomfortable.

Yeah, it does mess with my OCD.

yep, its a very smart move by WOTC, its no more or less then what we had without it, nothing changed.. its just there now. rewarding people who have money to blow on it, other then that it does nothing.. just ignore it.. its just points you did not spend... its not going to hurt you. unless you just have too much cash on hand/ MUST HAVE the cosmetic.

Since it’s historic, it’s a move for the whales I assume. I could be wrong though.

Idk, it doesn't seem like you can just buy tickets

Historic is the f2p game mode. Standard is whale-only.
