benefits of having 100% of a set collection?
i don't have any set 100% yet though i have an older one very near it
wondering if i maybe spend coins on those boosters to bring it to 100%?
i presume i'd be guaranteed gems and vault progress everytime i buy a booster from that set afterwards but not sure exactly how many gems or how much vault progress and if it's worth it since i normally use my coins for artwork styles
can anybody shed some light on the potential benefits of 100% set collection if there are any?

You get 20 gems for rares and 40 for mythic rares. 1 point of valut progress for common and 3 points for uncommon - 100% vault is 1000 points. So now you need to do some counting, if its worth it or not.

It's the same benefit you get from farming Steam achievements. A feeling of completion, and that's about it.

It's a challenge, that is for sure. One might think of it as a ♥♥♥♥♥ slap to everyone who don't know how to complete a set, I guess.... idk. Who am I to judge?

MTGA devs are also bad at math so you can shake hands.
You can turn gold into gems at a very bad rate

Is it even possible to get 100% without spending money, the most i've completed of any set is like 40%

Yes you can use you gold for any set. Its just a trade off. Less for one, more for another

People keep saying this, but when I get a duplicate of a rare or mythic I already have 4 of, I don't get gems. Do you need the full 100% set completion to get ANY gems?

There is a new trick now for spending that didn't exist before. It might be 2 months old I don't know, I recently noticed it. Now if you have a card you can't swich it to an alternative card style if you don't own the card in that style. So if there are 3 different card styles you can craft 12 cards.
edit: my mistake, it was about same card different sets.

To the topic, if you own all uncommons and commons you will need to open 77 packs to get 100% vault. If you get 3 uncommons in every pack and 4 commons that is 9+4 points.
It isn't worth it because instead of winning a rare sometimes in daily wins or in midweek's events you will get a few gems if it is from that set.
You will also have a set that you know well and have good chances of winning gems in draft but you will have no reason to join these drafts. I almost completed Amonkhet in the past besides some cards I wasn't intrested in, like Jace and Bolas. I played almost all the strategies of that set because it was my favorite. Nevertheless when drafts of that set were available and I joined them picking cards only for consistency, ignoring rares and mythics, I could win enough games until I got to silver tier. Then I started losing often.

I would think so

Doesn't really seem to be worth the time and effort though I've never really been a completionist myself

i think i remember hearing actually that you can't get gems for dupes from boosters

let's try to uncover the truth

if we don't get gems for them do we at least get higher vault progress than usual?

I think its possible. either through drafting, running standard events or just using all your gold u earn through the entire set duration to crack packs. having the mastery pass helps with this but then u would need the 3400 gems or have spent $20 every set (i recommend using some money ffs) to unlock the premium tier of the pass.
