Because the rigging doesn't exist, and the shuffler isn't rigged.
Matchmaking is reasonably fine and has nothing to do with the shuffler.
pay drafts or play the crap modes which are zero fun. makes the whole collection useless, so i wonder why to invest at all. the fun of deck building is very limited.
i mean, 3rd day to finish "kill 25 creatures" quest and progress is at 10, after 30+ games. ONLY blue and black decks juggling cards around and doing nothing important for player interaction. after they did their 5 minute turns, you ate your pizza and raided 3 bosses in wow, boom, game lost - or won.
even red decks started to use blue cards, so they can cycle and pull any card they want. those endless turns totally ruin the game, you can't even play a round in your breaks anymore.
if someone plays such decks in RL, they will meet a fist per card draw
I'm not trying to be rude but this is a load of BS. I used to be a professional CCG'er back in the golden days of ccgs and magic has been on a massive down hill slide sense original mirrodon... Magic in it's current state is WORSE THAN Yugiho, (and i f@#$ing hate that crap... so if you don't believe me i can break it down as a game designer as to why, whenever you have time to chat) But... Wizards did gain a lot of that games overspending adhd (and cheating) player base added to magic's player base, and only the cost of the games integrity and intellectual value. Hell wasn't their a season so bad even starshittyshames (code name for star city games) wouldn't touch it???
I wouldn't say it's worse, granted it's becoming more and more like Yu-Gi-Oh
I play it because I like MTG, but arena is THE WORST way to play Magic...
And the state of the game is not fun for anyone, at this point you just play dices and have more fun
in paper magic you dont get to choose which skill you are playing vs unless you are casually playing with friends. if you enter an event most likely everyone there using tier decks minus 1-2 if you're lucky.
on arena you CAN also casually play with friends. just add your friends. ask on the steam forums and stuff or use one of the extensions that lets you add players you match with.
in paper magic people run the timer in tournaments a lot. its annoying. people get annoyed at the players even if they aren't in the match. control decks especially will run the clock in bad match ups.
there is a lot to complain about when it comes to this game and wotc. you are missing the mark though
i completely agree. magic is not a complex game especially not the most complex game in the world lol. often times it barely plays like a competitive game. and yes it has been since mirroden there has been so many decisions effecting the game in a negative way. luck factor has increased, non games have increased despite the effort to print cards that reduce flood and skrew with mana. magic is a bit of a derpy little loop once you get it all down and you are just running an odds machine. very now and then you have some decisions that can take a bit but its not that demanding of a game. there are much more complex and difficult games you can play.
