Is that even possible? was my opponent cheating?
Was playing against someone who used devilish valet and got 2147483647 attack... is that even possible? kept buffing with other cards but seems a bit too much right?

there's a few combos that allows it to get pretty high power numbers

Not at all. 2 ^ 31 = 2147483648. All they'd have to do is churn out 30 tokens in one turn, which is just utterly trivial via any number of cards (Horn of Gondor, just for one example, will casually get you to 32 tokens in 5 turns even if you had nothing else out).

And I guess some effect on the board was lowering Devilish Valet's attack by 1. So you got 2147483647 instead.

I'm not an expert in computers, but a 2^x integer limit feels like a programming thing. To be honest, 30 is a fairly difficult to hit number. Not because it's too many, but because it's kinda threading the needle. If you can put out 30 creatures in one turn, odds are you put down a LOT more than that. It'd also be difficult to get that -1 power at the end of the string. And it would have to have been somewhere in the middle or at the end, because if it weren't, 2x0=0. That pretty much rules out any permanent based decreases. Though I suppose something like boarded window would do it.

2147483647 is the maximum positive value of a 32 bit signed integer - so the game probably caps the damage value to that.

A good point actually, Could be a whole lot more and the game just can't process 2^32 or anything past that.

I was thinking of five turns of token doubling, with one token spent blocking after the player hit 16. But a 32 bit cap is a much simpler answer.
buffing it before doubling lets it grow much faster
