So many full rare and mythic card set players in Gold?!?
Yo, I just started playing (again came back after 3-4 years) a week ago, made a decent white-red deck and climbed to Gold, but hello - why is there so many players with full mythic stacked out decks here? Aren't they supposed to be higher rank? They feel too good for this ranks since almost every card they play its a very OP ultra rare mythic something legendary something something rolfstomping us poor noobs that barely make one decent deck with lots of andjustments.

Rank is not determined by cards used, nor is it necessarily representative of skill. As you get towards the higher ranks, the ranking will be more representative of skill, but there are many players who are capable of being mythic that simply choose not to be, for various reasons. Myself, I play ranked 'til I hit gold each month just for the rewards, and then get bumped down to Silver in the next cycle, rinse, wash, repeat. The rank system in this game certainly leaves much to be desired.

Thanks, makes sense now. Probably a lot of players with full collections like yourself playing to get gold rewards. I guess I am already playing with the big boys! :steammocking:

The rank system does not match you with someone that has a similar deck or a collection of the same size as yours. You will get a random player that is in the same rank be it gold or silver. You can run into a player with a full collection at any rank and in any game. A full collection is just a sign of time spent or money spent on their collection. Has nothing to do with skill or any other factors to be honest.

For some people who have it, dont want to spend hours farming up a deck. So they spend a couple hundred every set to complete it and then make any deck they wish. It is just so they dont have to grind/farm, especially if they dont have the time. You work 8-12 hr days and grinding when you get home is the last thing you want to do.

I go as far as i can, and i've gotton to Platinum, almost to diamond rank.

I mean, if i invested in whatever meta deck or aggro-red that kills the player by turn 4, anyone could make it to mythic, so being mythic doesn't necessarily even indicate any real skill unless it's with a unique deck.
