client keeps switching to windowed mode

mtga client keeps switching to windowed mode for me after launching from steam
it didn't used to do this
using alt+enter then clicking minimize to let it run in the background sometimes
but now it's just doing it automatically at the beginning and end of matches along with some other times between menus
what's the fix?

try big picture steam mode for the extra extra large card size
