I’ve been playing free to play on mobile since the start really no issues at all. But I play magic in real life as well. If you want pure meta fast then you will have to pay just like in real life. This game is good for learning though and if you play regularly then you can build up currency and cards

Yeah man it’s a trading card game but my buddy downloaded it and is learning . I mostly play on my phone on downtime but I do draft in real life every Friday locally. Also in this game you can save up gold and do drafts in game to and keep the cards just not in cube drafts I do believe

It's not a trading card game, it's a collecting card game. They do enough false advertising without people helping them out.

It is like meeting a nice girl in a truckstop bathroom

I literally have no idea what this is supposed to mean LOL

Let me try anyways..

Nice girl in a truckstop bathroom seems nice, but you dont meet nice girls in truckstop bathrooms, and she will actually steal all your money?

Even the most pedantic of nitpicks couldn't separate the two. They're the same thing.

If you do the daily rewards, you can buy a pack a day - not a lot, but it builds over time. The more packs you open, the more wildcards you get as well, which can swap for any card of the specified rarity (go for lands first as these are the cards you'll reuse the most across your decks).
Jump-In events are also a cheap way to add a bunch of cards to your collection, although you're unlikely to get any of the meta-deck cards this way.
The app itself is good enough, though the devs have clearly not been prioritising non-crucial bugs (the sparky bug is annoying the community a lot at the moment). They also haven't added/fixed the feature where you can challenge your friends to a game, which has apparently been on the To-Do list for YEARS at this point.

Apparently you have never traded cards, or played a trading card game. The difference is that cards have no value in a collecting card game. Not to mention, in Mtga you can not even communicate much less trade or haggle.

Mtgo is a trading card game; Mtga is a collecting card game.

Mtgo is an investment; Mtga is free game that has no resale value whatsoever.

Is this the next step in wokism? Identifying things to be what ever you want them to be is not a real thing.

Doable to build decks
You get a lot of packs in the beginning

Getting a starter budget deck and then grinding 1 good deck is doable in like 50 hours of grind I would say.

But you wont have much variety

Worst part is that you are very limited daily/weekly with getting progress
If they change how this works, I would be quick to reccommend

Most important part is if you enjoy the game

But there's better alternatives for f2p out there

check online also for mtg arena free codes, there's tons of them, pretty much every set either had a redeem code for 3 free packs or when you start you'll have a bunch of in game mail with attachments as that's how they do it now, but right away or at least after the tutorial you should have 3x a bunch of packs to get you started

What other free alternatives do you suggest?

Snap is boring and repetitive to me.
I played years of hearthstone on release and dont wanna go back.
I already play irl pokemon tcg and the garbage online version.
I already play too much yugioh.
I also put years of gaming into LoR but thats on life support and not willing to go back either.

Let me know, ty

Eternal card game is very f2p friendly if you're willing to grind
There's daily rewards like in magic
But you can keep grinding gold constantly
Rewards doesn't run out if you play all day

Eternal card game, although the pve gauntlet AI stacks it's deck and cheats like crazy, but it still has a bit of a player base in pvp
