As long as the deck doesn't leave me with an empty hand by turn 5 I'll probably be a fan of it though, which means most aggro decks are out. The Rock was my favorite deck for years because it had a tool for most situations. Great midrange deck that doesnt' really exist anymore unfortunately
That makes me like decks with lots of permanents and doing stuff with them. Lately I have had good times playing GR dinosaurs, GB Golgari and RW discovery stuff. For ranking my choice usually is some form of mono red, as the matches are fast and efficient.
I got some old deck form strixhaven era I think, that is BW with lessons and many cards from Kaldheim and other sets of that time, like planeswalkers and a wiper Blood in the Snow. I really enjoy that deck from time to time.
But the preference of one over another is very slight, and I play limited so whatever it gives me as the best choice is what I'll play.
But I need to play something with interaction and choices to feel satisfied, and blue (and to a lesser extent black) is the king of instant speed utility and response, so it's what I gravitate toward when given the choice. To me the most boring way to play is minimally interacting with my opponent's cards. Dump-my-hand-and-attack-every-turn aggro or something like monowhite counters where my side of almost the entire game could be a preplanned script is not interesting to me.
