"Ranks" in this game are fake all the way up until mythic so there's no guarantee the bronze player you're up against isn't some 25 year veteran with 4x of every card on arena. Standard is also insanely powerful right now (and only set to get even stronger) so games are very fast if you have the best cards. It's not a very welcoming environment for new players, sadly.
If you're playing unranked, I think there is a matchmaker that actually tries to pair you up with an opponent that will give you a good game but I don't know what it looks at to decide that so maybe someone else can help.
Thanks for the information though, appreciate it, I'll just stick it out and hopefully get some wins to bolster up my gold / diamonds to get some more packs and cards.
I'm sorry but have to disagree with you on that one, the deck building aspect is pretty daunting for a new player to TGC's in general and the fact you've got X amount of expansions to choose from and as stated previously I wasted a lot of my wild cards building a deck that I thought I would like but im unable to play 16 of that cards which now leaves me confused on what to replace them with because I dont have a clue with what I'm doing and ranked is pretty dam ruthless with the amount of stank I have encountered so far.
They simply can't replicate real life luck in decks, with all its chaotic turns.
Game was possibly designed by ppl who hate watching tight-structured meta decks fail to rogue decks. Thing is... this stuff happens irl - a lot. Cause it might be a rogue deck, but it's filled with rares. And not just rares... but the right rares too.
Turn draws of specific 'meta' decks are fixed, just watch.
Game is rigged and a sham when it comes to ranks, keep trying it though.
Oh and if you thought that members with orange in their names are WotC employees-make sure to say hello!- forget it. There's too many of them even without any orange in their bully-ass names. How amusing to pretend this is even slightly competitive.
Κάτι losers τρόμπες...
Unranked depends on the playstyle I think. Brawl feels like it has a secret list of different commander pools (because god ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ forbid any of the trash run into hard counters), but the reality of the entire situation is this
You will never know and the devs have made it beyond clear they believe suicide is better than caring about the player experience in any way so the only answer they would ever give you is to GFY
Magic the Gathering is approaching nearly 100 expansions, So I can see how daunting that may be to a new player. You might want to watch some guides to the various constructed formats. Standard format variants are alright, But you may want to look into Historic and Timeless on MTG : Arena, They draw from all sets and use a banned list in Historic and a Limited List in Timeless their arena's version of Legacy and Vintage from Paper magic events and MTG:O events. Assembling 1-3 eternal decks would probably be the best use of wild cards. As the cards in those decks do eventually change but for the most part you do not have to keep up with every single set release and reformat or construct a whole deck each new season like with Standard. Though the "power level" Is quite a bit higher Turn 1-2 wins are possible and most games end between 4-6. Their are match ups that go on longer though.
I've built a mono red deck and a boro aggro deck and currently building an Auzurian soldiers deck as well to mess about, I figured out what the reason was I couldn't play (because i'm a noob) I was still on ranked spark matches which was obviously why I couldn't play my custom decks haha.
Thanks for the info tho, its appreciated getting into the online game and the actual card version of the game its pretty good once you get into the swing of things.
