Power Creep
Man, a brief trip down pleasant memory lane into Khans of Tarkir reminds me of when this game used to have balanced matches that weren't over after a single bad draw because the tempo your opponent gained playing 3/2s with trample for 2 in addition to having strong abilities was unrecoverable or they won on turn 4 with a 2 drop that inexplicably has double strike and you let it get one attack in.

Feels so nice to play the game at a reasonable, measured pace with modest cards again, instead of massive swings every turn because every single card is a veritable bomb.

If Sheoldred was printed in this set and kept her text she'd be 3 colors and a 1/2.

I also don't like this new fast pattern. In the beginning, the MTG arena was more balanced, it was more strategic, the battles lasted longer. Now it all depends on how lucky you are to have a good hand and win on the fourth land.
I never liked games that depended solely on luck because you don't really do anything, you just sit and count on your luck and then the game becomes just an ordinary card game like Black jack.

The irony there is, I started playing when Avacyn Restored was the newest set and quit the game due to power creep because Khans was so much stronger than everything else that it felt like a waste of time and money to even play the game at all.

I remember when Savanna Lions was a staple white beat down card. Now we have a Cheeky House Mouse with the same power and toughness, only it has an adventure attached making it essentially two good cheap cards in one.

Sad thing is ... it's not even good enough to compete with.

A mouse that can do anything a lion can do, only better, sounds like a Disney Fable about women's equality.
