Hate decks, do our part to NOT join the trend (Historic Brawl)

Well to start off....

I see decks out there running mono red and mono blue. Either to counter everything you do or destroy everything you do. My question is... "Who hurt you?"

Let's face it, running into people who built these decks are just byproducts of someone being absolutely anti friendly and ruining everyone's experience.

These people that play only counters or destruction, have prolly been hurt by others doing this. It's tempting to also join because I too am SICK of these hate decks that stop you from playing the game. But what happens if I decide "Okay if you're going to play like that, I'm doing to do it too" , the answer is further creating a toxic online gaming experience.

If you think this is a crybaby posting, this isnt for you. I know this is the beauty of creating whatever style you like to play as, in the world of MTG.

Here's my recommendation:

1. Leave the match you're in once they start stopping you.
2. Use the emojis for "good game" once you see it.
3. Don't match these people and the hate trend.

Why:
1. Leaving won't give them the satisfaction of actually playing MTG.
2. Using "good game" is the only way we can show our dissatisfaction.
3. If we start doing these types of decks ourselves, the entire game will just be full of not being able to play MTG.

I kept telling myself "OHkay You know what, iM gOnnA dO tHe sAmE tHIng" and never do since it'll further create hostilities for everyone.

I want to be able to create decks in the historic brawl format that is different that no one I see uses, and if everyone is just controlling from the start everything you want to do, it's no fun. I joined MTG Arena because I couldn't depend on IRL friends and play as often as I wanted to play.

If you disagree, then so be it. Maybe I see something you don't. There's not much I can do besides leaving this here.

You risk life and limb and longterm wellbeiing doing it in person so there are balances.

yes, playing a monored deck is indeed a risk to your safety. you cant win the card game if youre unconscious.

That is not at all what I said.

What I said was you will risk being arrested (or worse) for assault if you hit people for playing MTG in a way you dislike. The only way this is not true is if you are some criminal mastermind/thug and if that's the case, why are you hanging out where you could be spotted and pointed out to by concerned citizens.

I know adulting is hard but if you go around hitting people it gets a lot harder.

Once they have your face, your details are also theirs and then there is this wildly public admission that you'd "body" someone for upsetting you in a game. At least you know enough to get while the getting's good. Gl with the hiding out thing though.

monoblue is the weakest version of control tbh

mono-green, mono-black, and mono-white all have the exact same play pattern. Ascribing decks you don't like to someone's character is silly.

control decks are the decks that most allow you to play the game. Mono-green just tramples over your gameplan, monoblack gets rid of all your cards, monowhite makes you unable to play unless you pay 23 mana per turn, mono-red burn spells you down while you try to build a board-state that doesn't matter.

The point of a game is to play the game you want to and disrupt your opponent's ability to play the game they want to. This is true of every game.

In MTGA mono red (in casual) is often times experienced by more jank players as just "i burn every early game creature you play with 1-3 small creatures on the bord swinging at you till i run out of burn or you die" And for people who enjoy playing slower jankier decks in casual unranked that is annoying so is counter spell return to hand blue decks that play a couple flyers and do the same thing.

Wile the red deck can be stopped with a couple counters or burns of your own a lot of jankier players don't run much "hate" cards (as many call it)

The blue deck tends to be harder for jank players to deal with cus they counter your counters to there play style.....

Wile neither of those decks are as powerful as they seem to jankier players they are annoying to people trying to screw around and have fun.

Same with white black exile kill decks that again only have a couple creatures on bord most of the game.

Me and several friends play hanky stuff with near no interact aside from a copy card here bounce everything for both players so we can play them again there. And these are fun as hell and we find new ways to do things. However we cant play these decks outside personal matches even in unranked because we run into combo and control decks that are on a scale of 1-10 closer to a 5-7 wile we are playing closer to a 2-4 Sometimes tunning into turn 3 win decks.

So we have decks for those modes we use when needing wins ect that are much less friendly.

We want to play friendly matches in non ranked but everyone brings strong decks to unranked to get there wins they need or color played etc. without risk of there rank dropping meaning we cant do so.

But that is why I would suggest to ARENA a "friendly match" mode where every match end forfeit or normal win INSIDE THIS MODE ONLY you get asked "was the opponents deck fun to play against" or "was it friendly" (this way people can play the less friendly ones in ranked and not affect there friendly mode stats) and people who are playing lower power or just don't like those strategies rate it no and those who enjoy it or don't find it broken rate it yes ... wile this would have flaws but in theory those who like high power or "hate" decks would end up paired together wile those playing low power or friendly decks would be paired together.

The biggest flaw i can see being that only those people who's decks no-one rates negatively often enough would stay in one group the entire time wile others would fluctuate around up and down in there area.
