this exactly. after not playing for about 2-3 years, I now even consider rather playing MTGO again, just to be able to talk about the friggin game my opponent and me are playing - and most importantly -, to add someone afterwards, if it was a great game - and chat.
If I play online (vs non-AI), I want to be able to interact with my mates or opponent in every possible way. But with MtG:A it's more like "ahh, well, maybe I'm even only playing with/against a bot, who tf knows. why am I even playing, anyway." - I'm definitely not playing for stats or to win and show everyone I'm the best. I want a frickin experience with the game, and the social part is/should be inextricably from the game.
I mean, why tf isn't there even a lobby.
A year late but would love this function, people saying it would be too toxic just don't understand "mute"
It'll be all toxic, and when they start banning ppl for speech then they will lose players.
Join discord, or "looking for players" thread here on steam? One of many "players playing this game" groups?
Also:
can't believe that COLLECTIBLE card game with huge gamba/RNG/GACHA core is money oriented?! It's almost as if, developers and companies would like to earn money!? What a novel idea!
