Everyone playing black stuff?

I just noticed that in my climb from start to beginning of gold, the VAST majority i decks i played against, had black in them. Mono, double, triple, all of them mostly whatever for the first 1-2 and then black added on top.
Is it just THAT popular? Would've thought that red "in yo face" would be common, due to being just simpler

Right now both Rakdos (Red Black) and Grixis (Blue, Red, and Black) are very powerful. Hell, Mono Black isn't too far behind. There will be some bannings and that should shake things up.

Each color has a strong tendency towards so
Good tactic remove a card you get your card a unimpeded hit
