OP, please keep politics out of games. This is a card game, not a political conspiracy theory.

Not in his power to put politics out of the game. If a company wants to make a movie or a game with political messages in it, the consumer has a right to know about it, and make a decision based upon it.

I didn't see much "woke" stuff in this game though. Indeed, it's basically just a cards' game. The lore is very much a second-thought in MTG. Not important at all in relation to the core gameplay.

The real issue with this game is balance, not "wokeness". An incoming cards' ban which will occur on May 29th will make Midrange even weaker than it already was, while letting OP combo cards free to roam.

Now only pure Control, pure Aggro, pure Combo, or pure Toxic will be viable in Standard format. Pure toxicity, no pun intended. To be fair, it's not only WotC that is to blame, but the player-base that agrees with WotC 's decisions on bans and balance.

Once I'm done with the current Mastery Pass, I'm done with this game. I'm tired of their BS.

It's a made-up term to signify far-left political ideology, which do exist. But I'm sure you already knew this.

Its a funny made up term that gets over used and people get clowned on by anyone with more than two braincells.

Indeed. It is also funny to me. It is used in a derogatory way though, and some find it offensive and want to classify it as "hate speech". Which I personally find extreme to say the least.

Hate speech is so vague that anything could be interpreted as such as soon as someone finds something said offensive to them personally. Sexism and Racism is clear-cut in what it means. Hate speech isn't.

Can easily be misused/abused to enforce censorship of various kinds.

I played that game well over 1K hours on EGS before it came to Steam. Never saw any gay anything.

There's characters of Asian and African descent, but I'm not sure what the Aragorn thing is about? And I'm not sure why various ethnicity within the game is an issue?

Or maybe you're being ironic on purpose and I missed it.

i get it. you are a casual. nissa and chandra had a thing and there is kyneos and tied? or something a gay couple. but its okay, you probably just play the game because red and blue and your favorite colors or something. but some of us look into the game and and read the lore.

Funny that you mention Red and Blue, as they are my least favourites. I avoid Blue altogether, and only use Red as splash with White, Green or Black sometimes.

I loved playing Midrange White And Black mostly, but now that they're butchering Midrange even further with the upcoming bans, it looks like it'll be a thing of the past.

I'm not casual when it comes to actually playing the game, but when it comes to the lore, indeed I am. I don't really care about it. I just look at the pictures, spells and races/species, but that's about it.
By the way, could you explain to me what the "Black Aragorn" thing is about? Does it mean that a previously White protagonist/hero is turned into a Black one or something?

Aragorn is white in the books that Tolkien wrote.
On the cards that WOTC made, he's black because racism is fine when they do it.

You mean when they do it one way, but not the other. Yeah, I get what you're saying, and wasn't aware of this.

Now I'm aware of it.
I believe these corporations are so rich now, they don't even care, and do this on purpose to trigger people.

They're creating a cancel culture from both sides of paradigms. Further dividing people, as politicians and mainstream media do.

But that's just an hypothesis from me.

You'd think that, but they ended up overproducing their own cards from greed and had investors bailing ship at one stage.
They've hurt their brand quite a lot and devalued their most profitable product.
If ever there was a time to teach them the lesson of don't spit in the fans face, it's now.
^I put around 40$ in this game total way back. Don't intend to give them any more money for different reasons I mentioned earlier.

I only played to unlock daily rewards and have some fun, but even that I'll probably stop doing cause of the upcoming bans.

Sure, way back when Invoke Despair, Sheoldred, and maybe even Reckoner Bankbuster were released, I guess they were ban-worthy. But now that they released two creatures with OP come-into-play effects which can be brought-up from the grave quite easily and early, so their high mana cost doesn't matter, those bans are just stupid. At least, to me.

Add to that Portal to Phyrexia, which can also be brought-up earlier from the grave, or Toxic with Venerated Rotpriest and Proliferate galore, and you've got some OP toxic ♥♥♥♥ going on here.

The rest; the Aragorn thing, and things like associating with trash like Post Malone is just the icing on the cake to me.

I care way more about the gameplay than the lore, but it's still something to take note of.

You won't see them ban crap like Hullbreaker Horror and Jin-Gitaxias either. No worries, they love boring full Control mono Blue too much.

Or crap like Phyrexian Obliterator, which could be manageable on it's own, but splash some green and use spells to make it fight another creature, and bye-bye goes all of your opponent's permanents, lands included.

No ban there either. It's like they hate fair back-and-forth gameplay, and love abusive mic-dropped crap like that.

And players for the most part seem all fine and dandy with this. Cool, but I personally am out. And no, I won't let the door hit me when leaving...
