Magic: The Gathering Arena

Magic: The Gathering Arena

Need An In-Game Report Function
Tired of players who sit there when they're beat and spam emotes. Waste of time. It's an issue in ranked. Also, while not related to this post's topic, I'm tired of players who are extremely, ALL turns. Not just theirs, but mine as well. If they have an answer to something I play, they'll read the card and stall and take forever to make a decision. I experience this in about half of my games, daily. This game has made magic so unbelievably easy, it basically holds your hand. I don't see how anyone can be stuck there struggling to make a decision or decide what to play each turn. Don't play decks you don't understand. You should know immediately whether your starting hand is what you want to run with or not. It's supposed to be fast paced.

You seem like a relatively experienced MtG player.
I agree with your post entirely, but what unbeatable meta deck did you use against them?
People don't like that with their rank-up on the line and all. Add a rigged, bad starting hand to that...

They expect you to concede first, because they believe they deserve the rank more than you.
Unless they too used meta decks, that would be true cause they went thru hell to get to that point in the ladder. And then you appeared.
(Assuming ofc, that you had an op deck that ruined their rank rewards)
No?? okay...

Haha! You cannot defeat me hero! For I have acquired.....A METADECK!!!

The Hero: Heh... foolishly foolish fool... your metadeck...heh, if we can even call it that, is nothing compared to my... NETDECK!!!

And then they fight with their decks.

People like you are the reason we need an in-game report button and a block list.

If you don't like my deck, concede. That's what I do when I run into a deck that isn't fun to play against. I don't cry on the forums how it is unfair.

Yep. I've been playing since the closed beta and I repeatedly said this.

Ropers, griefers, slow players. If people tried this at their LGS, they wouldn't be able to find a game by the end of the first week.

Well said. The majority of players are antisocial with low self esteem, so they'll not act this way in person. Online however, they can be petty all they like and pull this bs behavior.

I'm not crying, bro beta. I'm stating what I sometimes do, clearly.
It's you modder whales who need to be blocked and banned from the game rly.
Think about it.

I either concede immediately, maybe try to play some turns, or even empty the clock sometimes. It's at my discretion, depending on my mood rly. Deal with it.
Same as you choosing any irritating strategy to play with, right?
You call it consistent, I call it bs, no big deal, enjoy the game.

ofc they could act like this in person, u joking? That would be even more entertaining, besides serious. Whales wasting my dueling time like this?
In-game, during matches you can't type or contact your opponent, devs deny you means of communication. That's why some ppl stall the clock sometimes.
Face to face though, during a duel, ppl can express themselves freely.

Your lame gun aint scary.
You refer to other's low self esteem and yet you photo ys pointing a gun? Hahaaa

Keep on dreaming you're playing Magic the Gathering, Brother Beta.

Mute emotes in the options and never look back.
Berserkr Jul 1, 2023 @ 8:25am
Yeah I just mute a person if needed, I do it in Eternal Card Game also. Op I completely agree with everything you said but I also believe if people had the ability to report players it would get abused way too much, and I don't think Wizards needs to go about their day looking at 10k+ reports every day which is probably about where it would end up

IDK about the 'its supposed to be fast paced' part. Its a turn based game which means you're supposed to think about the moves you make before you make them. But you want to report these players for reading cards and not knowing how to play their decks? how the hell else are they supposed to learn what cards do? just read every single one before hand? Nobody plays this way.

Yeah it would definitely get abused way too much and wotk would have all these reports coming in(which would take away from them bringing out more trash alchemy sets, sorry couldn't resist lol), I just prefer to mute, or tab out to something else till my taskbar pops out and glows orange

I haven't spent a dime on the game . I opened a bunch of free packs, looked at card database for awhile and turned in my wildcards for some useful cards. Maybe you just suck and aren't smart enough for a 13+ children's card game. I mean, your temperament control is equivalent to that of a mentally stunted neckbeard, so I guess you do fit the bill of an average MTG player. I'm not here to talk to you of your inferiority complex in a card game, either work on yourself or get better at the game, don't waste my time which is undeniably more valuable than yours by stalling the game because you suck at life and a youth's tcg.
I did exactly the same, traded wildcards for specific spells that I always used irl but also spent around 15$ to cover a lot of distance and save time, cause arena's dailies are kind of crap.
We haven't played together, I don't play ranked anymore.
The fact that ppl drag the clock on you isn't my problem, but I'd bet it's cause of your ultra-structured (possibly meta) deck. That's the only reason I would do it at least...
Is it bad sportsmanship? Definitely. But so is abusing 10% of the cards from each set, just cause some idiots made them op. It ends up giving ppl superiority complex after a while.
It really makes no difference, 'cause you'll get the win in the end. So, rel-axe.

ps: Your time is truly and undeniably more valuable than mine, but not cause I suck at life.

You could automate most of it.

Emote spamming would be easy to detect, as would roping. Slow play is a little trickier, but you can certainly eliminate almost all false reports.
