Divine Divinity

Widescreen resolution question
I've tinkered with Divine Divinity a decent amount over the years. I have the 3 CD version, the Good Old Games version, and now the Steam version. I've heard that the Steam version was reworked / updated to offer widescreen support. When I use the "configure" option within Steam and set the game to 1024x768, it looks good and I get black bars on the sides. The bars are to be expected, as that is a fullscreen 4:3 resolution and I am playing on a 24" 1920x1080 widescreen 16:9 monitor.

But when I use the configure option to set the resolution to 1920x1080, I get a tiny window in the center of the screen with massive black bars all around. It looks terrible. So what is going on with this game and 1080?

For what it's worth I'm on WIndows 7 Pro with a GeForce GTX 470 graphics card.

Thanks.

With a high and/or wide screen resolution the background images for the loading screen and main menu may not be full screen, but the game itself should be (after you have cleared the fog of war, or during cutscenes when it is removed).
Yep, you're right. At 1080 the initial screen that comes up displays in a tiny window, but once you actually get into the game it fills up the entire screen and looks nice.

Problem solved, thanks.
