Charmed, I'm sure
Hey kids, I can't find anywhere that says how to use charms. When speaking of charms I am speaking about those blue orb things - those ARE charms right? And if they are charms, how does a stud (such as myself) use one. Help would be great. Or some bus-fare. AND if you can cook, I make a good date...

You need the Enchant Weapon skill to be able to add charms to equipment. Click on an equipped item with a charm quality, and a window will open up, with up to 5 slots (depending on the charm quality), with the number of open slots given by the level of Enchant Weapon. Drag and drop a charm from your inventory (etc) to an open slot in the charm window to permanently add it to the item.

If you have a good piece of equipment you think you may be using for awhile, I would only use silver (large) or gold (very large) charms (the latter being rare up until the end section of the game; silver charms can be bought or found earlier).

How can you tell if the charm is silver or gold? Is it the color of the actual item itself or the text?

Silver and gold are the actual colours of the charms, with the descriptions being large or very large, respectively. There are also lesser charms (red / medium, blue / minor and green / weak), though I'd only use them in equipment you don't expect to be keeping for a long time.
