Steel scorpion
Hey Folks. How do I kill or avoid this thing down in the Verdistis sewers? Magic does nothing. And I don't have skill points to get the trapping skill - and I personally wouldn't want to use one even if I did.

I've read a lot about trapping them and letting them loose on enemies.... But nothing about any other option i.e. kill it... Please offer advice? Do I need a bladed / steel weapon to do damage?

Cheers.

I'm not entirely sure what damages it, but magic should work - I played through as a mage, and did pretty much exclusively magic damage. They are a lot harder than most mobs, but steel scorpions can be killed. It may be immune or highly resistant to some types of magic damage. If you're not doing damage, you might not have enough skill points in the magic you're trying to use, or need to use a different damage type.

The trap skill is not to trap them, it's to use "traps" - there is a scorpion trap which lets one loose, and it's very OP. I didn't use them myself as they basically break the game.

Hmmmm.... I was using Meteorstrike level 3 and it was doing nothing. So yes, probably resistant to "flame". Appreciate your very quick response my friend.

I'll give another magic a go. It seems you've killed one so I'll persist! Thanks.

No problem and good luck! :Smilin: Perhaps someone else will provide better insight into the exact ways to kill it (magic or otherwise).

Oh wow, simple bow and arrow did the trick. How embarrassing. Poisoned too. And slowed the bugger down with Limbs of Lead so I could get some good hits in.

Use lightning. It works against anything "Steel" in the game. Elemental Hail wrecks bosses, so invest in that. I run a battle mage of sorts, so mostly intelligence with a huge buff to strength and agility. I can wield heavy armor with good weapons, but still cast my spells like normal. Definitely a fun game to improvise a character in.
