Play Divinity in window mode
I've seen this question pop up from time to time. Have there been any improvements made during these last few years to make the game run in windowed mode, and what's the best option right now?

Jeez I actually managed to figure this crap out and play in windowed mode.
Steps:
1. Download DXWnd
2. I just extracted the .dll and .exe into my steam Divine Divinity folder.
3. Open DXWnd
4. Edit -> Add
5. Top press the "..." button to find and add the .exe for the game.
6. Select DirectX~DirectX6
7. Check DirectInput is hooked
8. Underneath this I just put at the far right the resolution. "2560", "1440"
9. Probably don't need these extra things but I just spent an hour try to figure out how to get this dumb game to run in windows mode so I'm not going to go rechecking these
10. Go to the .exe of the game and go to compatibility.
11. Compatibility Windows 7, Reduced Color Mode -16 bit, Run this program as Administrator
12. In DXWnd, double click these game path.
13. Game loads and is a small black screen.
14. Drag the bottom right corner of the window up and to the left. Drag the screen until this makes the screen not black anymore and now you can play.
15. Step 8 I believe you can adjust the screen position to where you want it to pop up when you launch it.

I wanna know too. It's strange that some old game which is a bit expensive doesn't even have support for borderless or windowed. It's preferable option for modern pcs now.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Thank you for figuring that ♥♥♥♥ out! I appreciate your help.
The only problem is that when you alt tab you have to keep repeating to adjust the screen to unfreeze it. :(
