Lore order?
Between Divine, Beyond, Divinity 2, OS1 and OS2 is there some sort of accepted lore order? I played Divinity 2 and OS1. Started but didn't finish OS2 and I haven't even installed Divine and Beyond yet. My memory of lore is a little hazy, but Divinity 2 is way after Divine and OS1 is way after Divinity 2 right? But also, OS1 and by extension OS2 act like Divinity 2 didn't happen...? Or something?

Divine Divinity, Beyond Divinity and Divinity 2: Developer's Cut should probably be played in order, but in terms of the story it doesn't matter if you play D:OS 1 or 2 or the earlier Divinity games first.
Lots of people started with Divinity 2 after it was released, actually. The earliest games can be played out of order, though Divinity 2 contains a summary of the events of Divine Divinity and Beyond Divinity (primarily the events between the 2 games, described in the Beyond Divinity prequel novella).
D:OS 2 is set before the events of Divinity 2.

The games were released in the order:
Divine Divinity
Beyond Divinity
Divinity 2 Developer's Cut (after the original Ego Draconis release, and the remastered plus add-on Dragon Knight Saga)
Divinity: Dragon Commander
Divinity Original Sin (with the later Enhanced Edition)
Divinity Original Sin 2 (with the later Definitive Edition)

The game world timeline is:
Divinity: Dragon Commander (10k years before the Divinity RPGs)
Divinity Original Sin
Divine Divinity (1200 years later)
Beyond Divinity (20 years after DD)
Divinity Original Sin 2 (4 years after BD)
Divinity 2 (58 years after D:OS 2)

Well, this actually cant be the right order?
I mean, in Divinity Original Sin 2 both Lucian and Damian die and the player character becomes the new divine.
So how can Divinity 2 play after Original Sin 2, when in Divinity 2 Lucian and Damian both are alive?

Jesus dude spoiler alert some of us haven't finished OS2...

Damian doesn't die in D:OS 2, and just because people assume he is dead, doesn't mean he is (any more than it did for Lucian; he is assumed to be dead for most of Divinity 2 and D:OS 2). Lucian may not have been entirely forthcoming about his decision to banish Damian, rather than kill him (between Divine Divinity and Beyond Divinity), and let people assume that when he returned but Damian did not.
In D:OS 2 Lucian doesn't necessarily die (there are multiple endings) and your character doesn't necessarily become divine (both depend on your choices).
Also, even if they were dead, when has that prevented a character's return in a fantasy world?

The explanation for that is that there are multiple endings and that one isn't canon and not the true ending.
