Mana.

Basically, i've made a mage and i'm already out of mana.
I really don't want to use a potion - so what are my options...?

I imagine i could find this information out elsewhere in this games long history, though it would be nice to have it all here for when i need it!

You also regain Mana with Sleeping in a bed and if I remember correctly Leveling up and certain Foods. It's not a bad Idea for a mage to be somewhat viable in normal Combat.
I wouldn't be too shy to drink a potion tough, you can buy those from a couple of people.
It's also good to learn Alchemy 1 point in my opinion, since you can mix health and mana potions to restoration potions that give you both.

Belive me, you will want to use potions if you're going pure mage. There is no passive mana regen here.
