Can you shear alpacas?

So I tamed one of the alpacas from up near the snow village. It's been weeks and it can't figure out how to shear it. Can you in this game? Am I missing something? Starting to get very annoyed with these systems. Why are there a million mounts but barely anything that you can get products from?

I dont have an Alpaca but check the almanac. some animals have skills instead of products that take effect once you max out their affection(music notes) towards you. i tamed a Lama just before getting into the snow region and maxed out its affection so now when i pet it i get 12:00 mins of warming effect
