I am unable to create Damascus steel. The option is there and I have the ore, but it won't let me make it.

where do you find damascus steel ore? Make sure that you have an empty inventory slot for the damascus steel panels to go into.

It worked when I went back the next day. Not sure what was going on. I found it in the Herbstburg south mine

oh you go to herbstburg village to get the damascus steel

There is also 2 nodes near the volcano farm. Go into the nearby hot spring and make your way to the other side of the hot spring and exit the water there.
