Such a great game, but buying Stronghold HD (2012) (if you want to enjoy original Stronghold) on Steam is really more worth than this one. Still no skirmish mode and really dead multiplayer scene (just buy Stronghold Crusader if you want to play for multiplayer). Very very sad...

Bought it and enjoy it overall.

It's essentially just an upgraded graphics pack with a modernized control layout.

It does add more campaigns, useful if you already played the original game and want more.

That said, I'm not impressed. At the time I started it (a week ago May 2025) there were already two DLC campaigns, and from what I can tell the difficulty scales pretty dramatically depending on the challenge level. Added to this, I've beaten the first of the combat campaigns, and it ends with a cliff-hangar. I suspect that this will continue thus providing an incentive for me to buy DLC's for a game I already purchased...

Overall, I'd recommend this if you haven't already bought stronghold. But I don't feel like this game adds enough to be worth the purchase.
