How to play against PC in free mode?

Hello I used to play on free maps again PC like Rat, Pig and other guys in free mode. I put the guys in spot places on map 8 palyers and i Play, how this I could do in this game now?

Stronghold 1 never had AI bots, in free build mode you can spawn invasion armies to defend against though.

the dev said that they will add it in later updates

also in Stronghold Crusader you had skirmish against the computer. Many people asked the devs to include that mode also in this definitive edition but sadly they didn't add it here.

Yes stronghold crusader had skirmish AI as the AI system got a big revamp for that game.

Hi, how do I spawn enemy troops in free build (I am assuming its Economic/Freebuild mode)?

Hit F1 to bring up that menu and there'll be lots of options.

Thank you, I actually intended this for the Stronghold HD, BUT you answered a question I had for this one. While I am on, have they changed the keys to move the map to ASDW rather than the cursor (I am seeing if it is worth getting this over the Strongholds HD)

There is indeed WASD camera movement and even the option for a more modern control scheme (right click instead of left click to move) should you desire that.
