Never found out why the game resetted itself, but came across a solution.
Your campaigns progress is kept in a file called "Settings.cfg", you can easily access it by opening your game, go to the saved files, from there open the saved files directory folder (there is a specific option to do so), then back up 1 folder into the folder named after the game and you'll find the file there.
By opening the file you'll want to search for something called:
"Campaign: .... "
"CampaignExtra: .... "
"CampaignTrail: .... "
"CampaignEco: ... "
and so on, depending on where you lost your progress. The number found beside each line represents the mission that you still need to complete. So knowing which progress you made before the reset you can change these numbers to go back to your original progress.
