The Polish castles are in the free Spring update, not the paid DLC.
I 'suppose what the level designers need to make is a playable/fun level, not a historically accurate one that isn't any good.
I'm currently playing Stronghold Warlords and I can see that here they went for the smallest line of resistance. It's a copy of Stronghold Crusader 2, which was a copy of Stronghold 3, with a pitifully small unit limit, already with 3 players on the maps. And the campaign? 2-3 sentences for the first mission and the same for the last mission. They don't even want to write a story anymore. They can't top what they did in first Stronghold 20 years ago.
They're also heavily focused on garbage mobile games that obviously have alot of monetisation and deliberately disrespect player time to entice extra spending.
That's just largely my opinion of course, mixed in with the well know and easily accessible ratings of Stronghold games since SH1. I think I still speak for many other fans when I say I'm really truly disappointed with the quality that Firefly puts out. A good example of that is back to this game actually... they weren't even able to release it with a working multiplayer... that's just sad, and that's coming from a fully solo single player person.
Firefly have changed into a slither of the company it used to be. Nice looking games with no soul and extra charges. $$$$$$$
Brother, with the main project in mind, are you talking about Stronghold Warlords? About that remodeled Stronghold Crusader 2, which was a remodeled Stronghold 3? About that game, what they announced it from 2018? They didn't even bother to put some graphics on the game interface. A beautifully narrated campaign consisting of 2 lines of text. So many maps accommodating 8 players. Oh, wait, limit up to 50 units.
stronghold games never had change in formular, you first build woodcuters then take care of food, games need to be diffirent in order for people to buy them, tbh, the only mediocare stronghold game is Stronghold 3, the entire rest is really good. stronghold 1 in my opinion is kinda overrated, and tbh DE really did a good job at making it much better expierience imo, new graphics, QoL changes and new content brough back life to this game. Stronghold crusader was a great game, best in the series imo. Stronghold 2 was also really good, great economic and military campaign. Stronghold legends has a cool fraction system and a lot of fraction specific units with their own mechanics. Stronghold 3 is there I guess, its okay but you probaly know the story on how this game failed. stronghold crusader 2 is good, though there are better games than it imo. Stronghold Warlords is best 3D stronghold imo, very good new mechanics like: unit collision, warlord system, explosives etc.
I just feel like everyone are hating on firefly becouse they are blinded with 2d nostalgia
the unit caps in newer game's multiplayer can be changed in the lobby settings (they are low by default so people won't blow up their PCs)
Warlords is the best game they'd made in at least a decade, and the first one I enjoyed right away since the original Crusader. And their DLC policy which is basically that they're completely optional (and actually feel like *added* stuff and not things that got ripped out of the base game) and for low prices is one of the most reasonable around.
It really pisses me off these days how studios genuinely doing good work with modest resources get bashed for the most insignificant ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, while the genuine AAA culprits which produce the most radioactive sludge just get away with it for the most part.
