What exactly to do in this game?!

I remember playing Stronghold Crusader back in childhood and this seemed cool enough after such a long time, but what do you guys like doing in this game? I love playing Skirmishes in RTS games; are the Invasions and/or Siege modes akin to Skirmish mode? And what else can I do that's fun?

I completed both new campaigns now doing economy campaign and almost 20 hours in game, later gonna play more scenarios and had only few mp matches so far, so multiplayer next, maybe try to create new map, i think there is lots of stuff to do

As I understand it there's four new campaigns coming. Two free updates and two DLC ones. They will be spaced out for Winter 2024 and Summer 2024, IIRC with the roadmap they published.

Invasion and siege modes are more like attack and defense missions.

Stronghold 1 does not have AI that is capable of building thair own castle.

That's stronghold crusader with a European texture reskin, not stronghold 1

Finish the single player content then go play another game until Crusader DE comes out so you get Skirmish mode to play the game for years to come.

Or play community created content for a while and then go play another game until crusader de comes out

I prefer this game over AoE2 now and I did back in the day too. It's quite a different experience and that fresh take on it being focused so much on sieges gave it something different to the many other RTS games that are more similar to each other.

well, the good thing is that this definitive edition was a massive success since it sold 100k copies in less than 72 hours and the devs once said that a possible crusader definitive edition depends on the success of the stronghold 1 definitive edition so i think it is very likely that crusader definitive edition will come within the next few years.
