1 and Crusader HD is just way better, i think Firefly is not suitable for 3D games honestly. All of the games that i played on Stronghold 3D, 3 , warlords are all bugged.

Crusader 2 is just a painful experience, oil people literally never throw their oil pot when they are on the wall, very rarely, most of the time they just stand afk like wtf.

Troops afk and get stuck most of the time when u deploy them, and u had to press Stop to fix it, or else they will never attack unless enemy is in contact on melee range. This game has been out for years and still not fixed lmao

and these on 1st and crusader HD u can manually throw the oil below the wall. Oil Smelter so useless.

So yes, in conclusion we need a stronghold crusader definition edition.

also very questionable design choices. Any mounted units literally cant attack Buildings, but once the knights gets dismounted they can????

how does this makes any sense. and in game 1 and crusader HD knights and mounted units are allowed to attack buildings.

Crusader 2 was good, but if you really got into Multiplayer... it was probably one of the most unbalanced RTS ever made.

The best 3D stronghold game is stronghold 2.

And for me personally stronghold 2 is the best game in the series, even better than the 2D games.

Crusader Extreme was pretty wild. It let you have a lot of units...until it crashed because you had too many lol. Still fun to see them all building castles and massing up troops like crazy for chaotic action.

I've heard a lot of people say nice things about Stronghold 2. I think for a bunch of fans of the series it was their first experience with it too, maybe only later trying S1 and S:C.

i like 2 and legends, always felt limited by the castle building options though in the 3D games, most importantly, placing buildings next to walls that gives 1 and crusader the comfy castle building experience

Yeah stronghold 2 and legends was good, any titles after is just bad, idk whats wrong with Firefly on those titles, very wasted opportunity

Crusader 2 is just a buggy mess, with many things still not fixed till this days

yes and i wish you can use the oil pot manually like in game 1 like now, but in crusader 2 u dont so its a massive fail

The new AI lords and DLCs are great and fun. though this should also be added to Crusader Definitive Edition if it ever gets released. Crusader HD was good but it lacks AI Lords DLCS and units

I have to agree with you here. Let's keep it 100% stronghold1 and crusader are the best games. 3d doesn't mean better. Unreal engine doesn't mean better game. Hope they realize this if they want to sell most amount of copies they'll focus on crusader DE.

I keep trying to love Crusader 2 but I just can't. Economy takes forever, the voices are lackluster, the music is uninspired, the maps aren't balanced, the camera control is awful, and the entire game feels off. I want Crusader 1 but better/more, Crusader 2 is a completely different game that's worse. I want to enjoy the cool things like special unit abilities (Knights charging, PIkemen standing ground, Templar AoE defense buff) but it takes way too long to get enough resources to do build any of that in any satisfying way. I always just close the game then go back to Crusader.

Stronghold 2, however, is actually very good. I agree the 3D graphics never looked good, but it is actually a solid follow up to original and Crusader. It plays very similarly but with good expanded mechanics like Honor, Estates and Crime, although Gong isn't very fun. The new battle mechanics are quite fun to use. I'm really looking forward to both Crusader DE and Stronghold 2 DE.

SH1, SH:C, Crusader Extreme and SH2 were the line up of ones I enjoyed. I liked the wooden walls, easier farm land access and aesthetics of the first game, but Crusader added a ton of features that couldn't be ignored as it upgraded it a lot. Extreme was just fun for a good blast through the chaos.
