"definitive Edition"

A simple question i should pay over 13 euros in the "sale" for the same game just higher resolution but only for 1 title?, or did they advert it wrong, cause i have all other stronghold titles and loved to play them even before steam existed, but paying in sale 13 euros for the same game again and like it sounds just for stronghold 1 alone is for me like not "milking the cow" but like "putting the rotting betsy through a meat grinder" before it even ends up on a catapult itself, i got the whole series again for a few bucks, so why should i pay for 1 title so much for "better graphics" since in a game you dont have any time to watch that anyways, and thats what confuses me, even on other "definitive editions" of other games even when i had the cds for ps 2 like 6 times since i grinded the hell out of it, have bought a onlinye license again and should pay for "definitive edition" without any fixes just for more pixels full prices again its for me a wonder, then i rather play the title i have and have memories with it.

so please tell me in this "definitive edition" isnt meant stronghold 1 only meant otherwise i can just laugh over it like some other DE "editions" xD

I get your frustration.. But if you don't want to pay that price for this you can always just continue playing the version you already have? It still works pretty well. I played it not to long ago.

This definitive edition is really for the fans that wanted an updated version of the game.

They might update the other games later on. The thing is that this was made with a very little team apparently so they didn't update the rest of the games. They might surprise you and do that at some point.

bro this game is cheap and is the best version of the old stronghold 1. all the whiners about skirmish should go play crusader or wait for Firefly to develop one. skirmish would've been nice but the original never had it. according to firefly, they only got one coder on this game. It's more about the missions and narrative.

then you shouldnt play it either since you cant even read the beginning of my question, where i asked if its only for this 1 title in the "definitive edition" or if there more in it, or for you easier said if stronghold 2, 3 etc will be added to that too or not :P .

There's more to it than just lazily up scaled resolution. This is very well redone visual art, bringing back original artists and voice acting to get styles and the feel of it authentic and consistent. There's also a long list of QoL improvements with the sticky thread in this very forum which you should read to save me pasting a very long list here. They also added (and are going to add more) new mini campaigns and maps to play. So the game is improved and getting added content and support.

The price is also incredibly cheap, the kind of price you see low cost budget games go on sale for. It's basically DLC price (I've seen more expensive DLC these days tbh...) You can spend more for a low quality burger fries and drink from McD. There's more than enough GOOD WORK done on this to justifiy the very small asking price.

The other thing worth point it out is that it's silly to get mad about something you DON'T HAVE TO BUY!!!!!! No one is forcing you at gunpoint, so why are you upset enough to complain here? Do you post on EVERY SINGLE FORUM of every game you also can't afford or don't want to have to pay for? So you should at least try to be fair and see the other side of things, the devs trying to do honest work for honest pay.

the frustration isnt against firefly studios, my frustration is more that the "definitive editions" are everytime diffrent, some add afterwards the other titles, and some just sell 1 title from all with or without bugfixes, thats why i asked if the 13 euros is for only stronghold 1 or someone knows if they would add the other titles then to it when they done it.

I still play the original stronghold titles and theyre fun, but for me personally i wouldnt buy it till i would know if the other titles would be then added to the "definitive edition" or sold then all seperatly, so would be lovely to know. At best would be too some criterias for game maker to make it easier to find it out, instead to guess if just it got higher graphics, if it got bug fixes or still same bugs there, will it be only 1 title or the whole game row (example like even c&C remastered "collection" where just red alert 1 is in thatand no one knows if there will be the other titles added, but i hope you get what i try to say with that).

Other titles would be sold separately. They are adding campaigns to this release though in the future roadmap so there will be more content added too after launch via that route.

The C&C remastered was nice too, but more expensive than this, so it's pretty good they made this one so cheap. C&C had the first two games and the extra maps/missions that go with them (the ones from PSX version etc.). They won't be adding other C&C games to that and never said they would, so I don't understand why anyone would be confused with it when it was never promised or suggested by anyone whose opinion matters (publishers, developers). I know everyone wanted RA2 and Tib Sun redone too and kept asking for it to have a remaster release too, much like people keep asking for Crusader with this release. Kind of funny!

i never said im forced to buy it, im frustrated about this "definitive edition" since in my comment above i described why. It get stretched and have everytime a other meaning, thats why i asked at first if someone knows if its just the 1 title or the others will then be added towards the "definitive edition".

and sweetheart i could afford it, but i ask before arround instead to buy the same titles now in the 4th time, and sweetheart i wasnt mad, i was just frustrated over that stretch over that edition everytime, and btw if you dont like my question/thread you dont need to answer it since i can write like you and others freely when i dont do anything against the rules so the world isnt just sugar/sweet talk, or just pros but contras too, just as info for the real world outside.

In the real world outside people also have mortgages to pay and we don't expect developers to work life slaves.

How often to you get mailed free blurays of movies you bought on DVD or paid for a cinema ticket for years ago? Why do people get so strange about the idea of paying for work done and that it's a choice. That's also the real world and your laughable passive aggressive approach won't change that or suddenly mean you should get freebies.

This game is chump change and as already pointed out above if you read the store page or the sticky thread on this very forum or look at their social media you'd have had all the answers and justification for the price. You were too lazy to do that before you had your tantrum though. Pity.

sry i need to make fun of it 2 times this comment with "so I don't understand why anyone would be confused with it when it was never promised or suggested by anyone whose opinion matters (publishers, developers)" (under that i copied the original title it gets advertised over steam, and a "collection" isnt just 1 title alone but you just show me to make more fun of it itself like you in general and why that like "definitive edition" name is more twisted then a croissant dough and not clear to see and why i asked like here if its just for stronghold 1 alone, or anyone know if more will be coming but its fun for me too so i can have fun with that too like i saw other "responses" i just make fun of them, at least for me a spark in the day :P.

good to see you throwing me into a clishee drawer, i never expected to work them as "slaves" i wanted to know if anyone knows what fireflys "definitve editions" means, so just stronghold 1 alone or other reworked titles added too it, but in my other comment i told you that i made fun of you more since you put me into a "drawer" in your sight.

your comparison with a dvd or cinema ticket wont match since when i have stronghold collection on cds (probably your time born and a physical copy) on plattforms like steam etc. to have it several times to literally ask others that want to react like that, and expect me to just pay again before even ask a question shows me and confirms me why games wont change in general but only get worse today (and yes i put you now in my "bubble drawer" or better said clishee since several years it hasnt changed much besides going for newer EA titles with a small company, and the rest "bigger" ones fell all the same.

and no im not to lazy to check all the "social media" since i dont want any of that stuff, i quitted after facebook already, i dont need to download every "hyped" stuff, i just asked if someone can answer normaly to my question that is a freak like you where think im "lazy" to not have 10 "social medias" plattforms for any games im interested in or have a question to it, i have more in my personal life to worry about alone just my health then to have the 10+ "social media" apps on my phone or computer, so thats why i asked here, but since only replies like yours came just shows me why i have a little spark of joy left.
