All Stronghold games end up on GOG so I hope so.

this game uses steam multiplayer so its not going to come to GOG, the steam editions of stronghold 2 and stronghold legends did not release anywhere outside of steam for the same reason.

Though Stronghold 2 and Stronghold Legends at least got a physical release in the Stronghold Collection.
Stronghold 3 never got a release outside Steam and as the first game where there whas a steam code in the physical box it never got a DRM Free option.

Groups like Razor 1911 and RELOADED were cracking every single game within days or even hours, just for fun. You are either an infant or completely braindead if you think that GOG's pro-consumer DRM free installers have moved the needle at all.

I wish I could go beside Steam problem is DRM is sexy for publishers and so you will not get games without Steam or until way later.
For me the introduce in this DRM whas with DoW II and it whas 2009 back then. Only this year it got finally a GoG release so it could take decades until a game is finally available is without Steam so when you really want to play a game it could happen that the game is never released without DRM.

Games get pirated anyway no matter if DRM or not. DRM is only for pissing of honest customers.
Though I would like to know if this game comes on GoG too or is at least from the Steam version playable just from the Exe without Steam because I want to install it on Laptop of my uncle who is a big Stronghold lover but things like requiring to install steam and then having to play from a launcher are just modern disimprovements.

Do you honestly want to have a copy of the game for your uncle? Hit me up, I can buy you a gift copy. Unfortunately there isn't a GoG version, but other than sailing the high seas, I wouldn't know how to get around that.

GOG fuels me to buy certain games like this in the first place and even to pay full price, showing my gratitude.
I have no problem giving the stalker 2 team 60€ on gog, but certainly not on steam.
I even bought elden ring only on discount.

Over the years I have bought Stronghold2 twice on retail cd. I got sick of having to put cd 2 every time I played it so I finally figured out how to put disk 2 on a virtual drive on my computer. Then a couple+ of years ago bought it again on Steam. I have probably played Stronghold 2 well over 2000+ hrs since I first found it in the spring or summer of 05. I almost gave up because of the timers on missions. I got so frustrated that I decided to learn how to modify the timers and everything else and loved every hour of it since.
I have games on gog as well as here and a bunch on Beamdog (now extinct).
I'm not into multiplayer, I don't even like to play/watch team sports. I'm not too keen on monsters or magic and don't want to rule/save the world, so my games are limited, especially as I age...
