I loved roleplaying in random skrimishes vs bots, I used to give myself random limiations for example no food, only x unit or focus only on helping bots. Good times

No marketplace makes for the best house rule, makes you use Stuff and strategy you barely ever used. Atleast in crusader it did, been awesome with the UCP aggresive ki patch

That's actually sad. It's your most popular game. And also my favorite. Been playing Stronghold since 2001. I really hope you reconsider this decision

I agree, it was very easy to snowball vs bots with marketplace, just buy wood and place a lot of mines, lumberjack huts etc

I hope and guess they have looked a little at how Age of Empires did their remasters. Everyone wanted AoE2 as well, but they started with AoE1 anyway. And afterwards they admitted that they were unexperienced when it came to remaking games, so they didn't want to start with the most important one, so they can use their learned lessons from the first one for the one that was most important.
Let's hope it works out just as well here
