1993 SSI Stronghold?

Is this game at all related to the original Stronghold game released by SSI in 1993, or is it based off the 2001 Stronghold game? Are those two games connected in any way?

Played the old SSI Stronghold game myself. These two are not related in ANY way. SSI's was set in Mystara, a Dungeons & Dragons setting with D&D elements like spells. This Stronghold is very much medieval Earth, and very historically accurate in terms of technology and such at the time.

All they have in common is the name. Nothing else.

I can confirm that this is 100% a definitive edition of Stronghold 1/Deluxe from 2001. It's the same game as Stronghold HD here on Steam, but more modernised from graphics to controls. Lots of QOL and there will be extra content added, both free and paid for, (afaik won't be expensive either.)

What I can't answer is whether Firefly took any inspiration from that older title. I've never heard of that earlier game... but thanks for giving me a new game to check out.
