Why not look at the store page? Or is this just bait about how it’s the exact “same”?

Or this is not asking about flashy ubiquitous advertisement the guy probably seen, but about coherent opinion instead?
Anime pfps and their thinking...

Why bring irrelevant points into the argument? Says a lot about yourself if you just discriminate opinion based on profile pictures alone.

If he issues understanding what is written on the store page then sure…

The store page already mentions new missions, overhauled graphics and steam multiplayer and workshop mod support, which is what others would already mention and have mentioned before?

I asked because the updates and improvements mentioned on the Steam Store page for this game describes Stronghold HD.

Did you scroll to the "New features" section? because it definitely lists out the differences there.

I did better than that. I installed both this and Stronghold HD (GOG version) and can confirm that Stronghold: Definitive Edition is a much better, improved, and modern game. Worth buying again.
A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

a lot different, it is like playing hell and heaven. I recommend to buy this superior version. I played both just as a reminder.. and improvements are very good. I just can not play stronghold hd, once I played definitive... that good it is.

Updated graphics, better multiplayer support, additional campaign and castle trails, bug fixes, better mod support

Let's measure their assets
Some have doubts if we should and they are very loud about it!
Good that those voices do not matter.
The Dogs Bark, But The Caravan Goes On. (Probably said by Caliph from S:Crusader)

2 new campaigns vs 20 years of downloadable player content
This one is simple. It looks like in the end of development phase that required to launch marketing, someone thought how bad idea it was to release this game without any additional content. They jumped together and created overwhelming 2 campaigns to shut your pie holes.
This is no asset. This is lazy attempt at telling they did something new.

New voicing vs Old voicing
Good. I guess it's the only purely positive aspect of the game.
It still looks like part of point above.

New textures vs Classic textures
Well, opinions are divided. Ignoring haters and fanboys we are left with "just the trees look better" and "the scribe looks awful". The classic look isn't bad for someone who played it back then. You just have to realise this is a 20 year old game right here and right now, when we talk about graphics and not only remember it when you see fit.
Either they upscale the entire game - graphics, performance, functionalities, options - or they better don't do it at all.
A nice tree with a nice animation, cramped together with 2 campaigns and refreshed (?) voicing won't cover lack of fixes, lack of upgrades and not adding (20 years old) gamemode with old (and new) AI lords.

New programming vs old programming
New bugs, way too little improvements regarding unit management, building management, and options. No bigger maps, no skirmish, no more player slots for multiplayer. Why care about the game?

Classic features vs Classic features (sic!)
They are not making this together with Crusader, meaning the are double greedy (and will release Crusader DE later *spit*) or double stupid.
Either way this is unnaceptable, the production is missing a point of existence, lacks obvious features and upgrades that are natural to think of after 20 years of playing a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game. (Or maybe they don't play their own games and that explains any other stronghold being a failure and them milking the "1" any way possible, beyond any good taste)

Thanks.
