TDLR:::: there should be a North/South America & Sea server where we keep it like JP and a EU (including Australia) version with the hardcore censorship it only seems fair to the global market.
"On this topic of games' age rating, Goddess of Victory: Nikke was "censored" before its release by its publisher(Tencent). Tencent said the game couldn't be published globally with a low age rating. So, the devs made some changes to the game. HOWEVER, keep in mind that there is only one version of Nikke available to the whole world, the "censored" one.
So, what do you guys think Nikke's age rating is? Answer: 12+
But go have a look at the game's characters ;)"
When I wrote this, I forgot to mention that Tower of Fantasy ( https://store.steampowered.com/app/2064650/Tower_of_Fantasy/ ) age rating is 10(same as Blue Protocol) and isn't censored/westernized/culturalized at all. Go take a look at the character creator and skins(character skins and simulacra skins). It's also worth noting that Tower of Fantasy is a Chinese game which means the CCP has to approve everything before it gets published in China and worldwide.
So, I don't think what AGS is doing has something to do with laws or age rating. They are doing it just because they can/want.
if i remember TOF was censored but (if i don't say wrong https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dPXy9KlOMNs&ab_channel=HeroHei ) the china is even uncesored and the global got censored, and for nikke at the end got censored but we have the same version of korea so idk if this can be call censorship but more (edited for appeal all coutry audiance) every one have the same version, exept china because (u know ) this is what i want for BP same version for all country exept china because is impossible, and really i don't understand how nikke didn't get even more censored, like the character Alice i will never put it on a pegi 12 game, max on a 16, and this is why censorship is always stupid and useless for me now day the editors they don't know what need censor and what did not and nikke is a pure prove where censorship for a T/12 rate can be push
yes BP in JP is rated with the CERO rate as C so for 15 years up if we categorize our will be Pegi 16 ESRB T ,AGS put down the Pegi rate to 12 to make it more appealing for child base, an MMO for children
Pegi 16 because is the most close for the CERO restriction and 12 dont reach the limit this is why get censored
ESRB T because BP don't contain blood/gore and have a more large restriction base,
this is why is better than Pegi, Pegi have a stupid restriction with 12/16 and AGS was thinking for 16 was too high, not like ESRB for T/M and got directly for almost to adult audience, even if i never see a game with an A rated so i really don't know how US use that, AGS did the pek doing this. and now he will censor everything that not appeal the Pegi 12 and not 16. and i will remember to all, Nikke is a Pegi 12 having a lot of skin expose.
Nope. These images are from the Chinese Beta Tests before the game even launched. They changed a lot of things before the game launched in CN. Truth be told, the global version has a boob slide, but the Chinese version doesn't. There are a lot of risqué skins like Lin's Swimsuit one. The game also has violence and a slightly dark setting, but there is no blood, so it can have a 10 age rating.
so is like nikke, changed at the end.didn't know that thx.
Edit: Formmating
It might be difficult for you to process, as you may embrace the same perspective as those working for Amazon--people who gleefully infantilize themselves on a daily basis, but customers, broadly speaking, do not appreciate being similarly infantilized, which is exactly what this "localized" release from Amazon is doing.
