Passing is not based on your cross hairs or necessarily the direction your player is facing, passing is based on movement keys / stick. So when you hit the pass button you get like half a second or a second where you stop and the pass direction is controlled by wasd / left stick, this allows you to pass 360 in any direction without your character needing to face that direction. This is why calling for the ball is actually extremely useful because even if your teammate is off screen and you can't turn to look at them you can still pass to them because calling for the ball gives the ball holder a line straight to the teammate enabling you to make consistent passes to teammates behind or to the side of you.
Based.
only thing id say im on the fence is sprinting. maybe having the ball push would be needed to ensure theres a counter, but hopefully once the game is out, the ball isnt as wonky and doesnt feel as janky like you are saying.
Cheers!
True again that's what I love about this game and as I said control mappings are on the way so that'll make it easier imo less hands everywhere and more precision
