I'm seeing female player characters on the frontpage which isn't a good sign considering the playerbase of this game is most certainly going to be 99% male, women just aren't interested in football irl let alone in a game and so I and many others implore the developers to take that into serious consideration, focus rather on good and fluid gameplay and solid game mechanics(like in rocket league) than on virtue signalling for the 1% on twitter.

Because as we've seen especially with games released this year people are sick of DEI initiatives, so pushing social issues and "diversity" in a video game will lose you more potential players and customers than gain them.

I'm not speaking for just myself, there was a huge debate and controversy when they added female footballers to FIFA out of nowhere and that is for a good reason, 99% of people who play football don't ever engage in the womens side of football or watch it for obvious reasons(its a net loss profit wise same as WNBA), its just not as good or entertaining.

This isn't due to any type of fear its just pure logic and you're coping, what's next gonna call everyone who doesn't like womens football incels? That's a solid billion or two people that are afraid of women I guess by your logic.
So I implore the devs to release playerbase statistics when the game releases to prove us wrong but I guarantee that the male to female ratio of players of this game will be something along the lines of 99:1. Adding female characters will do nothing to increase the potential playerbase in fact will most likely result in a net negative as people will see its an obvious soft DEI attempt at increasing the ESG score and ignore the game.

Almost no girl is going to play this game ever and so its weird to me that these studios focus so much on this diversity and inclusion stuff over making actually good games first and focusing on bs like that later.

Good job and great for you, you're part of the mentioned 1%. Now please can you get another 10000 girlfriends of yours to buy this game and justify the pandering because then we'll all be perfectly fine with this.

But no you can't and it won't happen, every FIFA up until 24 had just Mens football and I'm sure thousands of girls played the game as it is(which is still an enormous minority of players), now FIFA has female footballers and has the playerbase increased at all? No it hasn't for obvious reasons, wow who could've guessed that by just adding a different gender to a Mens majority hobby didn't increased the playerbase magically by 50%, women won't just magically play your game if you add their gender to it and the same result can be applied to this game.
So its great that you are going to play it but for every you there's gonna be 15 dudes that will play the game and larp as messi or ronaldo not sam kerr.

If a game is filled with aholes, you either end up avoiding communication, sticking to private games with friends, or losing interest in the game altogether.
When a game's community is notoriously toxic, like FIFA's, it gets harder to attract new players. Because why the f would you bother dealing with other players in your leisure time, especially if you’re not yet invested in the game?

Keep blaming the inclusion of female athletes or "wokeness" as the reason EA won’t fix its core gameplay issues and EA will keep avoiding addressing those problems.

Instead of fearing for a game’s potential just because you saw a female character, why not wait for more details and focus your criticism on areas that could genuinely improve the product?

If the mere sight of a girl in a game is enough to put someone off, it starts to sound more like an excuse to justify their disdain for women rather than a legitimate concern about quality. And honestly, if a few polygons are enough to drive that kind of toxic player away, should that really bother me? It sounds like it might actually improve the online experience for the rest of us.

Why would I wait for more details, should I wait until the release to voice concern? Obviously it should be done now before release so it can be remedied before the release, I've seen enough from the trailer which could be considered issues and so I'd post for others and the devs to see and discuss.

So other than fixing the unecessary diversity the game should be F2P on release and I'd say the game would be perfect then.

Id understand and agree if this was like fifa, but i think they are going for more of a rocket league approach, id have no problem with woman in this game as long as its just visuals, same hitbox, if they are going for a rocket league like there shouldn't be stats to upgrade your player, only visuals. thats just my thought
