You can just wait until like 3 months after release when they will struggle to keep 500 concurrent users and will make it f2p in hope that it will somehow revive the game, which it will but just for another month before it goes back to sub 500 concurrent users.

It happens to every single similar game and devs always think this time it will be different.

Rocket league even on release was free for a month for PS plus users which boosted its popularity massively and not to mention the game released 10 years ago with a novel and innovative concept, this one does not fit these categories.
