The Perfect Button Mapping? Might have it
This game is epic! But I found the controls a bit offputting. But after a few hours of tweaking I do believe I've found the best controller mapping. For this I'll be referring to the Xbox One controller.
So firstly I moved the block button down from L bumper to L trigger. Makes for a more natural blocking experience in my mind. I moved focus to A. I also changed the finisher to just B. This makes combat flow so much better. It's reminiscent of Injustice, where X was light attacks, Y was heavy, and B was a special attack. Putting the Focus at A keeps the most basic hand to hand combat choices on the part of the controller. I made R bumper Dodge/Run and R trigger to throw. I initially made dodge/sprint L thumbstick but that became tiring on my thumb.
Focus and Interact were my last remappings. I had focus on my L thumbstick but had trouble either activating it mistakenly or not at all. Now I will be moving Activate/Vault to the L thumbstick. I haven't had much time with it but believe it'll work well. That button was my last concern.

A: Focus
B: Takedown
Y: Heavy
X: Light
L Trigger: Block/Parry
L Bumper: Pick Up
R Bumper: Dodge/Sprint
R Trigger: Throw
Left Thumbstick: Activate/Vault
Time will tell how well this build works but for me most of these were either musts or extremely helpful. The simple switch of block to left trigger was so necessary to me. I use the same thing Jedi Fallen Order.
B for takedowns was the other big necessity. Makes combat so much smoother then stumbling to hit two buttons at the same time.

But that's it. Let me know what yall think. If you have any of your own suggestions just leave a comment.
