Whats the game actually like
From what i can gather, its a beatup with rouge like aspects? if thats the case take my money, but can i get some opinions on the game? how does the combat feel? is there good replayability?

Thanks

I have played 4 hours so far so take it as a beginners point of view.

There is roguelike progression - you can unlock shortcuts in the level when you return later (keycards, keys, etc.) and you can unlock new abilities permanently.

To me the game is a rhythm game at its core and I find it relaxing. It looks rather satisfying when you clear a room full of people timing dodges, blocks and abilities well and use the environment to your advantage.

You have to play it on high difficulty (default as minimum) or you lose out on the experience.

Currently i am in the process of unlocking all abilities while getting better and better in combat. I see myself playing it quite a lot and returning again and again in the future when I just feel like beating up a couple of people.

It is not the best game ever but I never played a game quite like this.
I am happy I bought it.

Thanks

Sorry I can't tell. I play it with a controller.

That's about accurate. Beat 'em up with a unique gimmick tied to the player dying (you age with each death, get increased damage but less health). The roguelite elements would be that the skills can only be temporarily unlocked (permanent unlocks are a major XP sink) and you can unlock shortcuts that help you go through the levels faster on replays.

Combat is super fluid and never clunky, but I'm admittedly rather biased on that one. Takes a while to really figure out, though.

The replayability depends, but I'd also say that it's great. You're inherently encouraged to replay levels and perform better (complete them without dying and whatnot), and in post-game you have extra challenges tied to each level. Completing those unlock modifiers/cheats that alter the game in specific ways. The recently added Arenas mode (challenge-based gamemodes) also really helps with replayability.

And to answer to the post #1, MKB is flawless, equally as viable as a controller or anything else. Been playing on MKB since 2022 and never felt held back.

You can get it on GMG for 28% off. It is an official steam reseller. ( But no refund than )
I hope you like it but I think you will know within 2 hours if it clicks with you or not.

It's a good game to put on some music and just vibe and flow through the levels. You unlock skills temporarily and then permanently so even runs where you aren't getting anywhere near the end of the game feel worthwhile since you are usually unlocking at least 1 of the early skills permanently in your playthrough. Each move adds another dynamic to your martial arts style. Pretty fun. The art style is great, especially with reshade. My review of the game and screenshots for more info. There are also a ♥♥♥♥ ton of mods.

GMG is showing the 10% discount only for me, how did you get 28%?

You need to have bought enough on GMG before to get 'XP offers'. It's showing 28% for me as well.

Ah, I don't often buy from GMG because it's rarely cheaper then steam, and I never saw the point of buying from them if it costs exactly the same as steam.

Edit: The people claiming GMG discount are 100% correct in my case it was showing me logged in but I wasn't now that I have I can see the offer too!

I have maxed out account for many years now, i don't see the XP offer either - is it a regional thing? where are you. I am in the UK
